Laurentiu Lazar (laur1989) | 6 comments Hayley,

Therefore, you can consider yourself as a youth of great expectations. Haha. I have only read two works belonging to Dickens, so you could say that we are in the same boat. Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol are my only reads, and I've read them recently.

In my youth I had serious problems with my eyes and I could not read much, but when I did I had burrowed myself in Jules Verne,Defoe,Stevenson and Romanian literature. No, Dickens! Strange... anyway, I'm planning that in the near future to devour all his works.

Thus, I can't provide you with any recommendations.

Gillian Hollett | 2 comments I agree with Clive in that I would start with David Copperfield.

The Christmas Carol is always a good bet too. Already knowing the story helps to carry you through when getting used to a new author's style, particularly when the book was written long ago in an almost different language then we are used to.
