Does this mean you are back? I hope you didn't leave your book on a desert island beach! ;)

That story had me thinking of the 1989 movie The War of the Roses. ^.^

The spate of sudden deaths in this series of stories was a little convenient but the longer stories were excellent (Boccaccio really knew how to spin a story!). The one I liked best was the first one with Ghismonda's discourse & final stance. x_x

Book Portrait | 658 comments Another illustration of the horrible festin, aka the "romantic dinner." ^.^

Book Portrait | 658 comments I still haven't read the notes for this series and I'm wondering who the lady Filostrato is hopelessly in love with is...

A mystery or I was dozing off as I read the conclusion of day IV and saw what I wanted to see! ^^

Keep going! I skipped days II and III but I'll go back and read them soon. Those variations on a theme are actually fun to read... :)

Linda | 75 comments Well! This has been a depressing little day! Happy to move on to Five (still behind, but gaining!), and hopefully, as Toto says, it shall be lighter on cannibalism.
