Leahxx (heyitsleahxx) | 326 comments I despise love triangles. I think they're overused and add so much unnecessary drama, and they usually end really stupidly anyway. And it might have to do with the fact that 90% of the time I pick the wrong guy.

My prime example being The Hunger Games, why did there have to be a love triangle? Why wouldn't Gale have just stayed as Katniss's best friend? WHY CAN'T FEMALE CHARACTERS HAVE BEST FRIENDS ANYMORE WITHOUT IT TURNING INTO SOME TWISTED, ANNOYING LOVE TRIANGLE? I'M LOOKING AT YOU CLARY FRAY. I wish Gale had just stayed as her best friend because no one roots for him anyway, which makes me sad because I do!
That's only one example, but I seriously think love triangles are completely overused and so aggravating. :)

Ally Bryan (allysbookshoparoundthecorner) | 43 comments Yeah I agree!!!! For me to like a love triangle there has to be a lot of build up and it has to make sense. That is really hard to do because it does NOT make sense for someone to be completely in love with two people at once lol!

I thought The Infernal Devices probably had the best love triangle in books. You understood it in a way (even though I still had a clear favorite) and it didn't really annoy me. With tv shows, The Vampire Diaries has gotten to the point where the love triangle is annoying, but I'm glad they waited to put her with Damon until after a certain thing happened to her (trying to be spoiler free lol). That helped it make sense because she changed as a person and that would affect who she wanted to be with.

Overall though love triangles are pretty annoying and are getting old. That is why I love Four/Tris so much!

That's why I love the Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi. No love triangle and the female lead just has a friend-relationship with a boy, and then a boyfriend-relationship with another.
I love that.

Love triangles are just no. Choose a guy and stick with him and tell the other one "sorry dude"

These Violent Delights (Robin) I haven't read that many love triangles. Though, I must admit that if the love triangle is written well, then I do quite enjoy it.

I did love The Tiger's Saga love triangle. Wasn't a giant fan of Shatter Me's love triangle though.

anjuli (pintobean) | 32 comments I hate love triangles. They need to stop. I wish the authors would just list it upfront so I don't have to go through the hassle of reading a book only to find out there's a LT involved.

M Liu (m729549) i wish people would stop using the term love triangles.
the only love triangle that i know of is that shakespear play i forgot the name of which involved someone named violet
what u r probably referring to is a love line:

peeta -> katniss <- gale

a love triangle would indicate either:
katniss
/ \
peeta <------- gale

or:
katniss
/ \
peeta -------> gale

no.

Teresa | 50 comments A love triangle (also called a romantic love triangle or a romance triangle) is usually a romantic relationship involving three people. While it can refer to two people independently romantically linked with a third, it usually implies that each of the three people has some kind of relationship to the other two.

I don't believe there was any Love Triangle going on with Katniss-Peeta-Gale. So there. Her love for Peeta is real, she loves Gale as more like a friend, someone that Katniss leans on and sits around and talks to.

message 12: by Hailey (new)

Hailey It all depends for me. If a love triangle is done right (like in the Infernal Devices Series) then it can be enjoyable. If the love triangle is done wrong though (like in Twilight) than it becomes less enjoyable and just makes the book become a chore to get through.
