Belinda Blair Book Review – Reboot
The book Reboot is a very dramatic and cliffhanging novel, once you’ve read the first chapter you just want to exceed onto reading the next.
The protagonist of the book, Wren Connolly 178, has a very interesting story to tell about her life, she’s known to everyone as ‘the perfect soldier’, not once has she broken the reboot rules. Her being dead for 178 minutes after being shot 5 years ago has a major impact on that, the longer you stay diseased, the faster, stronger and quicker to heal you become once brought back as a reboot, but you also maintain less emotions and become more cold hearted.
Things were going pretty swiftly for this young soldier, not once had she questioned the commands she had received, not until the day she chose her trainee, Callum 22. His reflexes are too slow, he’s always asking pesky questions and he’s always giving her the most gleeful smile. Soon enough she grows a soft spot for this kid and when the government starts using these lower species as guinea pigs for their experiments, Wren will do whatever it takes to save Callum, even defy everything she ever believed in.
I very much enjoyed this book; it gave me a new perspective on how to see what the future might be like. The author has included the essentials into making any succeeding novel into this one book such as love, deception, thrills, adventure, rebellion and much more.
