Have you read any of this author's other books, stories, etc.? Any anecdotes related to this author?

I read Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch years ago. I remember it being enjoyable and funny. Much different (lighter) than this book.

Now one of my other book clubs is reading Good Omens, so it looks like I will be rereading it!

Kandice | 944 comments I've read everything Gaiman has ever written with the exception of his newest. I love him! I've seen him at ComicCon twice and he is also a lovely person. His voice is just buttered velvet so if you ever have the opportunity to listen to him read one of his own books on audio...do it!

Kandice | 944 comments My mind has been blown! I just read that Neil Gaiman was raised as a Scientologist and that this book could be his nod to that "religion".

Here's a link: http://tonyortega.org/2013/06/21/in-h...

I am really, really flummoxed and had no idea.

Interesting! And, that article is longer than the book! ;)

No! His dad is something Gaiman, but he was a major player in the Scientology game in the 70s and until his death. Gaiman's mom, ex-wife and siblings are all still practicing Scientologists. My guess is that's why Neil says nothing about it. If he says anything disparaging he would be labeled a Subversive Person and they would all need to disconnect from him.

Christopher Wilson (munklebob) | 45 comments I am a huge fan and I never knew about the Scientology link. That's really interesting, I will be investigating.
