I've read everything Gaiman has ever written with the exception of his newest. I love him! I've seen him at ComicCon twice and he is also a lovely person. His voice is just buttered velvet so if you ever have the opportunity to listen to him read one of his own books on audio...do it!
My mind has been blown! I just read that Neil Gaiman was raised as a Scientologist and that this book could be his nod to that "religion". Here's a link: http://tonyortega.org/2013/06/21/in-h...
I am really, really flummoxed and had no idea.
Jana wrote: "L. Ron Hubbard is his father?!"No! His dad is something Gaiman, but he was a major player in the Scientology game in the 70s and until his death. Gaiman's mom, ex-wife and siblings are all still practicing Scientologists. My guess is that's why Neil says nothing about it. If he says anything disparaging he would be labeled a Subversive Person and they would all need to disconnect from him.
I am a huge fan and I never knew about the Scientology link. That's really interesting, I will be investigating.

I read Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch years ago. I remember it being enjoyable and funny. Much different (lighter) than this book.
