Based on some reviews I've read, I'm a bit confused. If this is a Country/Fantasy, how is it set in the world of the First Law? I don't remember any six shooters in the trilogy. Someone please clarify!

This book is set 15 years after events in first law. The number may be wrong but I know its many years after. Logan is old now, but still one of my favorite characters
Spoiler alert! I didn't know Logen survived. Is there a particular order I should be reading them in? I'm done with the trilogy..there's this and two others I can't name off the top of my head.
The Heroes and Best Served Cold are the books i think you have missed. They are stand alones though some characters from the trilogy do pop up here and there. Red Country is set in the same world though not in the same area as the trilogy.
After the trilogy the chronological order of the books is as follows: Best Served Cold, The Heroes, and then Red Country.Essentially, the one offs are basically themed books based in the First Law world. Best Served Cold is like a mafia revenge story, The Heroes is a war/battle story, and Red Country is a Western. Kinda a cool idea. Out of the three I enjoyed The Heroes the most. It's actually my favourite book he's written.
Sorry about the spoiler I thought you had already read Red Country. Its ond of my favorite all tkme. Enjoy

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I just found out that Heroes is about Black Dow! Awesome! =)

The plot is ripped off from Western movies. It's mostly Eastwood's "Unforgiven" with a dash of Wayne's "The Searchers" set in the frontier between Starikland and the Empire. There are no six-shooters, but there are wagon trains and natives.
It's more a Western in spirit than straight up example of the genre. There's the desperation and hard living of the frontier; a debauched saloon town; a gold rush; and the Ghosts, which are pretty much a straight send off of Native Americans. If it helps, just know that it's a Western told in a fantasy setting with Abercrombie's dark, gritty, funny as all hell style.
