Corinne (cbartshire) | 22 comments I'm on page 60 of The Russian Concubine... It's a pretty intense start, a little complicated for sleepy bed time reading, but I'm being sucked in and looking forward to this read. Anyone else reading this one?

I'm on page 30 or so. I hope to get a lot more read soon as I'm enjoying it so far. I just need to 'dive in' and then there is likely no stopping me. :-)

Kristen | 4 comments I just finished our next book, The Lovely Bones, because I don't have this one. I'm going to borrow it from Sam and read it when she's done! I'm just going all out of order.

Corinne (cbartshire) | 22 comments Sounds like a great plan, Kristen! (to be completely out of order...) I'm looking forward to Lovely Bones.

If I finish the Russian Concubine first, you can borrow mine.

I'm currently on page 144. I found the beginning hard to get into at first but now I'm pretty absorbed into the characters. I have a feeling I am going to read the rest fairly quickly as I get to know the characters more and more and become attached to them.

Corinne (cbartshire) | 22 comments I've made it past the 200 page mark! I'm getting more and more into it... I have problems with the third person narrative. It seems that sometime the narrator is in Chang's head and sometimes the narrator is in Lydia's head, but always speaking in the third person. It just throws me off a bit.

Corinne (cbartshire) | 22 comments Phew! I finished The Russian Concubine. It was a tough one to stay interested in, but did pick up at the end. Check out my review of the book. Can everyone see that?

If anyone else finishes we can start a dialogue to discuss...OR stick out our tongues and move on to the next one. Lovely Bones!
