emily plums (erplumz) This is it, your finally aloud to be alone with game makers and Capitol officials to strut your stuff and show off. Choose one or two talents you wish to present, and good luck!

Mel (melsheard) Everest Mount, District Four

I stood up, ran my fingers through my hair, and walked along the room where the other Tributes sat talking. I was eighth to perform my skill, and I was positive some were eyeing me up and down. I'm only twelve, but, I have a lot of skill to show.

As I walked closer to the doors, they swung open, let me through, and as I kept walking, the two peacekeepers either side gave me a fright. I heard a chuckle somewhere to the right above me.

"So young, so fragile... Well. You have ten minutes to show your preferred skill. Whenever you're ready." That voice came from The head Gamemaker. I'd seen him before somewhere, just not sure where.

Taking a deep breath, I moved over to the climbing wall. It was still there from before, same one, although, it looked a little taller. The gear was easy to put on, so I set up off the wall before the audience at the top lost interest in me. I pressed the buzzer at the top (Beep!) and climbed back down again.

00m 16s 32ms - That was one second faster than last time. I smiled. Well, I'd done it. Shown my skill. The Training Center looked a lot bigger than it had done when I entered. The Head Gamemaker was still watching me. I smiled a little girl smile, did a curtsy, said "Thank you for having me!" and walked out.

Alexa Marriot, District One

Alexa stood, and confidence took over her. She walked to the center of the room, giving each Peacekeeper a nod, they didn't scare her at all. "Alexa Marriot, District One." She spoke loudly and boldly, making the Gamemakers snap to attention. She was the first tribute, so she would have a big advantage.

She strode over to the dummies, a favorite of hers. They looked much more human here than they did in the training center. She glanced at the Gamemakers, they seemed to already be drunk, but she had plans for them. She picked the sharpest and most ideal daggers for this important task. She first blew on the dagger for good luck as a cruel smile spread across her face. She threw the knife with the blade facing down on the hard ground. The noise made all of the Gamemakers widen their eyes with surprise. She then showed then cleanly pulled out the knife and threw it aiming for the heart. In the air it didn't even wobble a bit; a straight throw. It pierced the dummy and the blade went in all the way so that you could only see the hilt. It was her best shot ever. She then used her other daggers to aim for the throat; the throw was perfect, piercing the exact area of what would be an instant kill. The final throw was aimed for the back of the head, and it landed perfectly. She had never seen any dagger move so swiftly. If the dummy was real, he would have died with an exploded head.

Alexa then winked at the Gamemakers and moved over to the stimulation section. She set it without any hesitation to the hardest level possible and picked up a crossbow and two arrows as well as a dagger. As she stepped inside the booth, she watched as the first tribute came at her; a perfect dagger in it's hands. She swiftly readied for the first attempted hit, and blocked with her own dagger, then spun around so that she was behind him and stabbed him right through the part of the back where his heart would have been. The fake tribute just disappeared. She threw the dagger against the wall having show the Gamemakers enough skill with that. They jumped in surprise, all of their eye now locked on hers as they watched with immediate interest. The second fake tribute charged at her with a swinging sword. She punched his arm knocking away the sword and then shot an arrow at his heart; piercing it. The last two came at her both at once. One carried another sword, the other was hand-to-hand. She used her crossbow to reflect off all of the blows from the weaponless fake tribute. She then shot an arrow which lodged stiffly in the center of his chest; the target. The fake tribute disappeared. She then dropped the crossbow to the ground, and leaped like a cat onto the last tribute. She punched the back of his head, probably shut down his brain, and finally kicked in between his eyes. The tribute disappeared. She was prepared for the last one when it came. She charged at it, and knocked it down. She grabbed a dagger and slit its throat without hesitation. It disappeared.

Alexa walked straight up to the game makers. "Thank you for you attention." She said hardly and stiffly with a small bow. She then charged away, and threw the dagger at a target behind her; disposing it off. It must have hit the target or somewhere close because she heard shocked gasps. She turned one more time before leaving, and flashed the Gamemakers a cruel smile.

Julia Eℓνιяα Aναℓуηηє Lєηηση

Elvira patiently waited for her district-Ten-to finally be announced, along with her name. The voice calling them to what could save or kill them was very monotone. And boring. Elvira was relieved when it finally called her name. She stood up, glancing back at all of the other tributes still left, and walked on into the training room. It was time. Time to show off her skill. Time to get her score. Time for everyone to decide if she should live or die, too.

The Gamemakers hardly gave Elvira a glance as she walked in, with her head held high. She smiled slightly at the few-three-that were looking at her. Elvira gracefully walked over to the knives, and picked up a normal throwing dagger, and another knife that most people would leave alone. It was an oddity, and even few Careers would use it. It was longer than most, but still perfectly balanced and very sharp. Elvira tested the blades in her hands, and felt ready.

Elvira gracefully walked over to the simulation, like she had so many times before. A few of the Gamemakers-the ones who weren't as drunk-elbowed the others in anticipation of what Elvira was about to do. She turned it on, and turned the setting up to the highest it could go. The setting that was practically impossible to beat. It beeped loudly, which caught the attention of the rest of the Gamemakers, and warned her that it was at it's hardest level. Elvira grinned and stepped into it.

As soon as Elvira stepped into it, a simulation sword-fighter came at her. It down-stroked with it's blade, to which she blocked with her large blade and the smaller dagger under it. Elvira hissed and pushed the blade back. She heard a whooshing noise behind her, and realized that an archer was coming too. In her sudden realization, the swordsman stabbed at her again, to which she kicked back. Elvira leaped forward, arrows barely missing her, and stabbed the sword simulation through the heart. It disappeared as the archer came at her.

Elvira avoided another arrow, and then another. She leaped to her left then right, arrows barely missing her. Elvira was quickly upon the archer, and she slashed the simulator archer's hand, so it dropped its bow. Elvira then stabbed it in its shoulder, and then slashed it's neck. Elvira scrunched up her nose as and spear was stabbed towards her from behind. She had heard the noise of the air whooshing, and she was able to roll to the side. The simulation with the spear had shoved it forwards with such strength and certainty, it lost it's balance. Elvira was quickly on her knees and used her shorter dagger to stab it in the stomach, and then the longer one in the heart. It disappeared like the other two before it.

The simulation beeped notifying her that it had ended. Elvira stood up, and wiped the sweat from her brow. There was a single loud gasp-a collective one from all of the Gamemakers. A large majority of them began clapping, but quietly. Some Gamemakers flashed her a smile of approval, and began whispering-urgently-to the others. Elvira hopped out of the simulation and set back down the daggers. She headed towards the door, but stopped. She turned back to the Gamemakers-her face determined. "Thank you." Elvira said, but not actually that thankfully. She turned on her heel and left, the buzzer ringing.

Julia Jαмeѕ Crowѕтoɴ

James impatiently waited for the first Career District kids to go. When it was his turn, he stood up, and confidently walked into the room for his Private Training Session. He knew a lot, and couldn't wait to show off his knowledge. "So young and so brave..." The Head Gamemaker said to the others, but intentionally loud enough for James to hear. "I hope he doesn't get too full of himself though." They chuckled and turned to look closer at James. He stepped over to the weaponry and dummies, and they all nodded in a knowing way.

James rolled his eyes a bit, then stretched his shoulders. He picked up a spear-one of the heavier ones. James's arm fell a little, but he could hold it-seemingly barely. James threw it, and it stabbed the dummy straight through the chest. He picked up another, lighter spear, and hurled it at the same dummy, to which it cleanly cleaved off the head. He piled a few more spears next to him, and continued to thrust the spears through the heart, head, or another deadly spot from different positions and from different distances away. One of the closer ones with a heavier spear cleanly cut one of the dummies in half.

James grinned and preceded to the swords. He picked up a nice sized sword, one that really felt like an extension of his arm. James turned on a simulator, and began sparring with it. The simulator aimed a feint upwards stroke, to which James stopped and pushed back, stopping his opponent from gaining on him, and actually take a step back. James grinned and thrust his sword at the simulation's leg, to which he slashed slightly, but it stopped him with a spark of electricity and steel. James sneered and stepped forward, pushing the simulator back. He feinted a downwards stroke, and in turn slashed his sword up and to his right, where the simulation's heart would be. James leaned in, and stabbed the simulation straight through the chest. He sneered and walked over to the display, setting down the sword.

James had a cruel grin on his face as the sword clanged into its sheath. The Gamemakers stopped to look at him from the loud clang. They surveyed his work, and began whispering among themselves about a twelve year old's performance. The Gamemaker himself nodded and winked at James. With a job well done, James turned on his heel and made for the exit. As soon as he had set foot out of the room, the buzzer rang, signaling that his time was really over.

†Emily† | 465 comments Mara Crayle, District two.

Mara walked into the Training Session, her head held high, her long black hair flowing gracefully behind her. She walked up to the Gamemakers, bowed and said, "Mara Crayle, District two." This got their attention as they weren't completely drunk yet. She backed away, giving them a cruel smile.

She walked over to the weapons, running her fingers greedily over them. Her hands stopped at the knives. She curled her fingers around a hilt of a knife with a sharp blade. She picked up three and walked over to the dummies, they were more fun, they were like real tributes. She looked up at the Gamemakers, they were all watching her, and tapped the spot in between her eyes and smirked. She recoiled her arm and swung, the knife whizzed toward the dummy with extreme force and speed. It hit the dummy directly between the eyes, just like she had said she would. She then took the second knife, looked up at the Gamemakers, and pulled one single finger across her throat. She bent her knees and threw, her blade spinning as it hurtled towards the dummy, stabbing it in the middle of its throat. Mara tossed her last knife in her hands, smiling maliciously up at the Gamemakers who were still watching. Her little interactions with them had kept their attention, good. She lifted the knife and gently cut her finger, the blood welled up on the tip and she then, without looking, keeping her eyes on the Gamemakers, drew a heart where her real heart would be. Her shirt was white so the blood red heart stood out. She pulled back her arm and swung with all her force, sending the knife straight into the dummy's heart, the blade was completely lodged into its chest, only the hilt could be seen.

Mara smiled coldly at them and walked over to the simulation, put in the hardest level and took four knives from the nearest table and stepped inside. She waited and soon the first fake tribute came running at her with a sword. She dodged his first swing, spun around and stabbed him in the back, he dissolved into nothing. A second came with a dagger in its hand. Mara threw a knife, hitting the fake tribute in the shoulder. She cursed quietly as she took another knife, threw again and it lodged itself in the simulation's heart. Two more to go. They both came at her at the same time. She had one knife left and charged at them, slitting ones throat before he could even realize what was happening. The one that was left, threw his dagger at her. She ducked, the blade whizzing past her, and ran to pick up one of her fallen knives that had fallen when a fake tribute had dissolved. The simulation charged and she jumped up, stabbing him in the head. Mara landed on her feet and walked over to the Gamemakers, "Thank you for your time." She said, and walked away.

Mel (melsheard) Blake Underwood, District Two

This was his time. Blake strode into the place where he was to show his skills. He didn't want to show all of his skills as he knew that the Gamemakers would probably test his limits. Even if he got higher than five that would do. But he was aiming for at least a ten. At least. The doors slid shut behind him and Blake glanced around. A lovely room with huge lights above, along with a wide range of weapons that he could use. Blake wasn't sure what his District partner had done, but he was sure it would be good. She had a lot about her. "Blake Underwood, District Two." He called out to the Gamemakers in the top room. They nodded then turned back to their wine and started laughing with each other.

After grabbing a knife in each hand, Blake threw them at the furthest dummy and both the two knives struck the plastic model in the heart. Even though his arms were spread apart, the knives landed in virtually the same spot. That just showed how well he could aim with both arms. He then walked to the middle of the room and stood on a circle. He gathered a few spears and one by one threw them at the targets. The hit dead center. Blake smiled and turned to the Gamemakers.

"Thanks." He walked out.

E Evan Evgeniadis, District Seven
Evan walked into the private training session. He walked to the middle of the room and looked up at the Gamemakers. "Evan Evgeniadis, District Seven." He called up to them. The head game maker stepped forward and called down. "You have fifteen minutes to show us your skills." He said. Evan went straight for the bow, only a few gamemakers watching. He shot one, bullseye. This got a few more gamemakers watching him. He shot a second and split the first down the middle. This got several more gamemakers watching him. He shot a third and split the second. Now all the gamemakers were watching him and just to prove it wasn't a fluke he shot a fourth and split the third down the middle. He got claps by the gamemakers. He walked over the the knife throwing and threw several knives. He hit the head, heart and neck. He picked up a few spears and threw them into the stomachs of the dummies. He walked to the simulation and turned it onto the hardest level. He tok two swords and walked in. There were five simulations and him. Four charged him and swung. He blocked their swords with his two and thrust backwards. They stumbled, he launched forward and dug his blades deep into two simulations. The second pair got their balance and charged him and swung. He blocked their swords and pushed sideways disarming them. He sliced them both in half. He looked for the fifth when a knife was thrown at his face he blocked it centimetres from his face. Another flew out, he side stepped it. The simulation came out with two daggers and charged him. He blocked the first thrust that the simulation made and made it drop a dagger in the process. He flipped over it and dug his sword into it's back hilt deep. He walked out. The gamemakers all clapped, "You have seven minutes remaining." The head gamemaker called. He walked over to the building section and went to work building a small shelter it wasn't noticeable at all. "Your fifteen minutes are up please exit the training centre." The head gamemaker said. Evan walked it, he thought he did pretty well.

georgiabread | 398 comments (Insert bold text) Ivory Elestren, District 7

Ivory entered the large room filled with weapons, designed like the training room yet smaller. The room had every station from training, but were more packed together.
The Gamemakers strolled around in their little room in the wall, laughing, chatting and wobbling around drunkenly. Ivory could see tables piled high with food, and paintings on the wall. A few acknowledged her, but with only a slightly lingering glance. Some told the others about her presence.
Once enough were paying attention, she bowed and said, "Ivory Elestren, District 7." A couple of Gamemakers chuckled and Ivory blushed. Why were they laughing? Did the consider District 7 a weak district? They provided them with all their furniture, and knew how to swing and throw axes.
"Alright, tribute," said the head Gamemaker, emphasising the word 'tribute'. "You have fifteen minutes starting now to show your skill."
She drew a deep breath and headed over to the weapons station. She picked up to throwing axes, made sure Gamemakers were watching and concentrated on the very centre of the target. She hurled the axe through the air. It spun forwards, and hit the target just on the outside of the centre. The Gamemakers chuckled again.
Ivory glared at them and threw a second axe. This time it hit dead on the centre. The Gamemakers looked surprised and pleased. Ivory grabbed a third axe, and threw it higher. It wedged it's way into the middle of the target's head. The fourth was sent into the target's stomach.
"Ten minutes."
Ivory bit her lip and headed over to the climbing wall. She quickly grabbed on her heat and attached the cord to the hook. She slammed on the timer and jumped onto the wall without losing her balance. She instantly took off, scurrying upwards faster than before to earn the approval once more of the Gamemakers. She took to the wall that stretched along the ceiling, which took her some extra time.
Finally she was lowered to the floor by the cord and pressed the buzzer. Her time was 16 seconds exactly. She bowed again, thanked the Gamemakers and walked out, hoping she would receive a good score.

Shayakari Kyisakura Misamoto
Sha walked slowly into the room. She spied a recurve bow, and picked it from the ground.
"Begin," the Head Gamemaker called, and Sha aimed the bow carefully at a target, shot, then jumped onto a ropes course, shooting rapidly at moving targets below. She dropped the bow and swung off the last pole, then began to climb a long silken tassel, twisting it into strange shapes as she went. First was a lion, then a bird, then lastly, a head. She dropped to the floor, rolled and pickled up the bow she had dropped earlier, then shot an arrow clean through the head.
The Gamemakers stared at her, and murmured amongst themselves.
"One minute left," the Head Gamemaker called, and Sha leaped into a complicated acrobatics routine, before finally she intentionally fell to the ground, wincing as she felt a couple of ribs crack.
She walked out, after thanking them for paying attention, which she doubted they actually had.

E How did Evan only get an 8?

message 18: by E (new)

E He showed a variety of skills in weaponry and other necessary skills you need to survive on the arena. He had deadly precision with the bow and knives and showed he was skilled at sword fighting easily defeating the simulation. Just don't get how others who showed much less than Evan did got a higher score.
