Helen Barrow (helenebarrow) | 2 comments I read a list purporting to be the 22 rules of storytelling according to Pixar and the first of these rules was:

"#1: You admire a character for trying more than for their successes."

and my mind flashed back to a website in which I read the author refer to the protagonist from the series The Killing, investigator Sarah Lund as "Sarah 'for fuck’s sake, Lund!' Lund" due to her mistakes that would appear to have kept their attention throughout the storyline.
I'd like to think whoever wrote the plot for the series read that moniker, then smiled to themselves at a job well done.
