Set in the American Civil War era, a young Christian man from Ky is traumatized mentally and spiritually by the war. He struggles upon his return home with paralyzing flashbacks. He begins to lose faith and hope but is rescued from his madness by the love of a strong romantic interest and a God that he ultimately realizes never quits on us. A story of the grace love and mercy of God. The book contains elements of spiritual suspense, the adventure that is war, and a good old fashion "pure" 19th century romance.
