Secret Vampire, chapter one - (view spoiler)[What a start. I'm not sure I fully love Poppy yet. She's slut-shaming a little bit and that doesn't sit well with me, but I'm excited that this series isn't just about vampires but werewolves too! (hide spoiler)]

the end - (view spoiler)[I really liked that, surprisingly! The ending was a little bit too Twiligthish (and that's bad comment on Twilight since this came first), but I liked the characters and the storyline had me guessing. (hide spoiler)]

Daughters of Darkness, chapter three - (view spoiler)[I'm glad these books are connected somehow but I wouldn't have minded some more James & Poppy. Oh well.

Why would you keep kittens in a suitcase? Poor little things! And are they really staying in a random house? Or is it their Aunt's? Confused. (hide spoiler)]

chapter five - (view spoiler)[I'm a little confused. Whose Quinn? And what did the sisters do wrong, I wonder? And is this set after Secret Vampire or not? (hide spoiler)]

chapter 16 - (view spoiler)[Bullshit. I don't believe that Ash could change that quickly. I don't like that Mary-Lynette accpeted him so quickly and that's she frigging becoming a vampire at the drop of a hat. Where's her family? Why is no one worrying about her and Mark? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I felt like the end was very twilight-y as well! But LJ was the original queen of vamps and all things paranormal. But whereas it ruined Twilight for me, that ending didn't ruin this for me. (hide spoiler)]

@Connie - The default edition on GR is also called Spellbinder so it must be one of those UK/US title swaps.

I'm too lazy to change it these days :P I think Spellbinder was the original title but when they re-released the series as a bind up, they changed it

I've never understood the point of doing that... And sorry I haven't continued with the series yet. I've been trying to finish some other books first, but I"ll definitely get to it soon.

Finishing Thoughts: I feel cheated by this book. It's so disappointing because I actually really enjoyed the book before this one...

Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[ I don't think I like this one very much tbh, like it's good but compared to the last one I'm not as interested in it (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[ I get what's meant to be happening, but I just don't feel it...Like her brother is dead or awol and she's trying to find him and Delos wants to kiss her but also doesn't want to see her again. idk it just doesn't seem to have the same flow as book 7 did (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[ so is finding the wild powers the endgame? (hide spoiler)]

Finishing thoughts: I feel like in every set of three there's always one I don't like as much as the other two...It was definitely this one for me in this 3 book bind up!

Watchlight

The love story also doesn't seem to form the main basis for the story either.

It seems to be just a part of it.
