Everything about this short book is exquisitely done! It covers a wide range of emotions and feelings ...it so much reminds me of the circle of life. The author has interwoven love, loss, fear, hope, death and rebirth together and used an old tree as the 'alpha' and the 'omega'.
This lovely book also rhymes and the watercolor paintings were created by the author and are beautifully done.
Most highly recommended. The author suggests this book is written for ages 2 - 10 and K - 5. I would suggest that everyone (no matter their age) will appreciate 'Now I Am Paper'.

I am so thrilled to read this wonderful joint review, written by Dii, a Top 500 Amazon Reviewer, together with Mary-Grace Bylo, a girl of 11 years old, for my children's book Now I Am Paper:A Beautiful Tale for Children of ALL Ages
By Dii TOP 500 REVIEWER on August 9, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition
This review is written by Mary-Grace Bylo, 11 years old.
The book Now I Am Paper is a wonderful story about a tree making a friend with a young child; the child plays and enjoys the tree. When the child leaves the tree grows sad and lonely. Then the tree gets cut down and becomes paper. The tree realizes being paper is starting a new life; a life the tree adores being a book of a caring child forever.
I did enjoy the book; I would recommend it for children the ages 8 to 10 reading by themselves and 5 to 7 read to them. I liked how the story was written in the perspective of the tree and how the tree feels about its life and how it’s like to start a new life as something new. The illustrations were beautiful and I liked how you put the text on the leaves.
My review:
Uvi Poznansky has taken the beauty of her art and combined it with the beauty of her poetic words while telling the tale of life, friendships, loss and change. A perfect read for bedtime, family time and alone time. The cadence of the rhyming flows gently, the meaning behind the words make for a perfect family discussion after!
We received this copy from Uvi Poznansky in exchange for our honest reviews.

Now I am Paper, by Uvi Poznansky, begs to be read with a small child who enjoys playing hide and seek. Whose little foot would the tree like to feel? Who would it love to hold and swing? And who might climb?
Pictures in beautifully suffused light evoke a happy childhood time, for child and tree. But the life of a tree includes more than leaves and branches. The ax intervenes and the reader soon sees, together with child and tree, how wood becomes paper.
It’s a nicely intriguing lesson in real-world mechanics, but that’s not the end. Leaves of paper can speak just as surely as those on a tree, and they do. In the final product, the author’s poetic and artistic touches combine to make this a beautiful poem to share, and a lovely picture book for all to enjoy.
Disclosure: I was given a free ecopy and I offer my honest review.

Uvi Poznansky wears a coat of many colors. Originally from Israel where she studied Architecture and Town Planning then moving to the US where she studied Computer Science and became an expert in Software Engineering, Poznansky managed to combine the design elements of two studies into unique formats. And she has accomplished the same with the other side of her brain - making visual her ideas (she is an accomplished painter, drawer, and sculptor who has enjoyed exhibitions both in Israel and in California, her present base) and making words in poetry and in short stories and children's books.
For this very tender little story Uvi uses her talent as a watercolorist and graphic designer (letterer) to make this book a work of art as well as a love story between a child and a tree. The tree narrates the rhyming tale that begins with the quiet of the forest and then along comes a child how climbs the tree, finds the trees hollow, leaves a make of love on the trees bark and departs. Years pass and the tree grows old and eventually chopped down and sent to a mill where it is made into paper – the very paper on which this tale of tenderness is written.
Leave it to Uvi to create a story to which children and adults can relate and one that teaches some important lessons to children. Art and rhyme blended with love. Grady Harp, August 15

I remember: a gentler sound,
The forest rustling in the rain
Leaves were swirling all around
I heard soft footsteps up the lane...
The paintings for the cover and interior pages were done by the Uvi Poznansky. They are watercolor on paper. The text for each verse is hand drawn in pen, in a ‘Gothic’ font that is as flowery as the tree used to be in its prime. While Gothic fonts are rarely used for children books, the author believes that children would love their highly decorative style, and the way she breaks the formality of the style with sudden long strokes that express the emotions in this story.
