This is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy story and to be honest this is not the type of story that I typically read.

Gorvine has great character development with Arnold and many of the other characters, although I would have liked to see a little more about our librarian/cat and our wolf/teacher. Throughout the story, we see Arnold grow from this meek nerd to a brave and sometimes reckless boy.

I found the story line quite fascinating and the ability to travel between the worlds was intriguing. I really enjoyed the telepathic dragons and found the different dimensions to be just as interesting. These different dimensions could make a book all by themselves.

I did find it odd that Arnold did not seem entirely phased by the disappearance as his dad. I would have expected more of an outburst of anger, or some more internal questioning if he was doing the right thing and should he continue to do it.

The ending, I won't say much because I don't want to give it away, but I felt that it was rather unbelievable. How one person goes from this situation to the one he ended up in. Maybe the ending was hurried a long a bit, but when I was done, it left me thinking really? Maybe that is just the Sci-Fi genre....where the unbelievable is made believable.

Overall, if you are a Sci-Fi lover, I would definitely recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and think that Gorvine has a great imagination and is able to tell the story well.
