Fjord looked around. They had passed mountains and now they were flying over a sand-covered land. "I am going to guess we are in the sand Kingdom?" he asked matter-of-factly.
Diamondshard nodded, noticing a large cave that seemed busy with lights. "Hmmm, I've never been to that place" she murmured to herself
Diamondshard shrugged, "I don't know, but it seems jolly!" she chirped, obviously not knowing what the Scorpion Den was
He wasn't sure about it. Still, he was very curious. "Let's check it out!" he said, his adventurous side taking control. He turned and went towards it.
Diamondshard dove before he couldn't say anything else. She glided, feet above the ground, sand spraying everywhere
They were nearing dragon den. "It looks like...." he forced his eyes. "Like a city of sorts," he said as he looked at her. "Which cities are there in the Sand Kingdom?"
"I know that there is Possibility...." Diamondshard cautiously stopped at the entrance, peering in. The guards seemed to have disappeared. "Is this.." her voice trailed off as she noticed dragons that were trading daggers and tiny cards
Diamondshard still felt rather nervous, but followed anyway. "Wait up!" she called, darting after him. She gazed around, there were A LOT of tents
Fjord stopped behind one of the tents. "Wow. This is rather... dark. Why would dragons live here?" he asked curiously and then looked at her.
((Sorry! XD))Diamondshard shrugged, "I guess it's a good way to get treasure the 'civilized' way but in private way" she guessed. "Probably a place for murderers and assassins"
Fjord knew he should be scared or at least a bit concerned. He wasn't. His curiosity was way more powerful than his fear. "Should we look more?" he asked.
Fjord chuckled. "Sounds like a clever idea," he said as he walked out of their hiding spot and looked around. Everything looked sketchy and that intrigued him. He had never seen a place like it.
((Brb, Imma check to make sure my notifications are still working))Diamondshard laughed, trying to keep away from the tents. She could've sworn that she saw a Sandwings lifeless body in one of them
Fjord was looking around curiously. He had never seen a 'city' and this wasn't actually that surprising. "Are all cities like this?" he asked.
Diamondshard shrugged, "It reminds me of Possibility. But there weren't this many tents" she compared the cave to the popular Sandwing City.
Fjord nodded and then spotted the dragon she had seen. "Woah... is he..." he looked at her concernedly.
Diamondshard glanced around to make sure that nobody was watching. She nodded, "This place gives me the creeps" she whispered
Fjord gulped. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to go inside... "we should get out of here," he said slowly right before a dragon nearby spotted them. The dragon stared at them menacingly.
Diamondshard shot the dragon a glare. She wasn't going to be pushed around by some killer dragon. It was a terrible idea, but she didn't feel like cowering in fear. "I think that's a great idea" she replied softly
Fjord started to walk toward the entrance when the dragon started walking towards them. "We should hurry!" he whispered worriedly as he started walking faster.
Diamondshard didn't need to be told twice. She quickened the pace, though tried to act casual. If they seemed suspicious, there was a chance that any nearby guards would be engaged as well. "Will we even be able to make it out?" she asked, dodging a blast of fire that was aimed for someone else. They still had quite a lot to go
Fjord noticed the commotion around. A dragon started brawling with another one while other cheered around them. "I think we can make it," he told her. The dragon that was following them stopped and patted two other dragons, who then turned and saw them. "What does that dragon want with us?!" he said to the air.
Diamondshard nodded, wishing that she could believe him. Positive thoughts she told herself silently, forcing a smile. She flared her wings, a couple dragons quickly clearing out of her way. "I don't know! But I don't think I want to know!"
Fjord opened his wings, following her lead."Stop them!" came the Deep voice from a dragon, probably the one that was following them. Fjord gulped. This caught attention by two nearby guards.
"Uhhhhh.... FASTER!" Diamondshard leapt into the air. Thankfully, the ceilings were high enough. She wasn't looking to harm anyone, but would fight if it was nessacary. "Try not to be predictable!" she called to him, gliding through the openings of a few tents before launching herself high in the air
Fjord leaped behind her, almost hitting a dragon. The guard started running after them. "You! Stop!" Fjord groaned. This was causing too much attention. "There's the exit!" he exclaimed, shouting towards it. "Let's go!" he said just as the guards jumped to the air in pursuit with the other dragon from before.
Diamondshard was glad that she was so small. It caused her to be agile and fast. She stretched her talons out as if reaching for a sheep. There was no way that she was going to get caught by Sandwings! The dragonet wasn't fit for a sentence in prison! Worry gnawing at her, she began to hesitate before making decisions. SNAP OUT OF IT She scolded at herself, hoping that the guards weren't as quick as them. "Almost......." she was now practically lunging towards the exit/entrance. They'd be harder to catch while in the open air
Fjord followed close by and managed to evade a guard who longed at him. With a scared face he looked at the entrance and then behind. He saw her nearing the entrance, which was good. Soon they'd be better off outside than inside... That is, until he felt a swift strike at his back. He barely managed to not fall, but as he looked down and then to his sides he noticed he was surrounded. Without wasting a second he pushed himself as hard as he could forward. He couldn't get trapped... not again...
Fear struck into Diamondshards eyes as she watched the dragons surround him. She pushed away the idea of flying off, diving back towards the Seawing and slamming herself into the guard that seemed right on his tail. The dragonet's talons closed around his scorpion tail, though it gave the guard the advantage. She winced as claws scored across her throat, only so that a few drops of blood fell. Diamondshard yelped, twisting and squirming until she was out of the Sandwings grasp.
Fjord turned towards her. "Watch out!" he exclaimed as he noticed another guard launching at her. He ignored his fear and turned back, using his tail to slam the guard. The guard was not expecting that and yelled as he fell in disconfirm, crashing against a rock. Fjord didn't wait to see though, he aligned himself with her and saw she was hurt. "Are you okay?" he asked concernedly.
Diamondshard nodded, "Im fine, lets go!" she grabbed Fjord's talons so she could launch him in the air. After he was flung into the air, she darted next to him. She ignored the major pain in her throat. Thankfully, the guard hadn't cut deep. The black dragonet tried to cover the wound so the blood wouldn't leave a trail. "Thanks" she called weakly, once she was close enough to him
He saw some blood and felt very bad. He had cause that to happen... He saw as they managed to get to the entrance... in which two guards waited them. "Stop!" they said angrily. "Uhhh... what now?" he asked concernedly as he decided between gaining speed and stopping.
Diamondshard was actually debating whether to stop or not. She glanced at Fjord, "I don't know, but we're definitely not going back to that place!" it was a statement that seemed quite clear. Would they become wanted? What did the other Sandwings want anyway?
Fjord nodded. "Then..." He flapped harder. "Let's give it all we've got!" he exclaimed as he picked up speed. The guards stood still, although doubt seemed to fill their eyes as they saw the billet of a dragon flying at them without stopping.
Diamondshard laughed, she wanted to leap onto one and pluck him out of the sky. A simple wing tie would leave them falling to the ground. She was happy to see that they weren't that far from the ground. "This'll be fun" she smiled, shooting after Fjord
Fjord used his powerful tail to send one of the guards to the floor. He smiled as his wings once again let the sun. As much as he found the arid landscape kind of boring, he felt free again. That is, until he saw the pursuing guards.
Diamondshard clashed into one of the guards, gripping his tail with her hind-talons and tying his wings a knot. The guard shrieked at the sudden small volts of pain he received. The black dragonet dangled him in the air, her talons wrapped around his tail the only thing that kept him from falling. She got a bit closer to the ground before dropping him and flying back to Fjord's side. "That tail must come in handy!" she chirped
He looked at how she had taken out the guard. "Yeah, but... where did you learn to do that?!" he asked amazed. "That was amazing!" Just then the rest of the guards came out, after them.
