Theodore Boone discussion

This is the discussion on the climax and resolution in Kid Lawyer.

In this book, the climax is elongated throughout multiple pages. The climax is when Theo's homeless friend Julio find out a secret about the biggest murder trial in their town's history.

I think the resolution was one of the worst endings I could have possibly thought of. The end is that the judge calls a mistrial. That's it. Nothing was solved. The man who killed his wife is still free and living happily with his million dollars from her life insurance. There is no actual evidence that he did commit the crime, there is just a witness who says that he saw what could be a murder. Even in the new trial the accused murderer could still be sentenced freedom. There is not a very good ending. Everything Theo has accomplished may be for nothing.

I agree. The resolution could have been a lot better. For example, the author could have put in a surprise witness, or a outburst from one of the spectators. that spectator could be the murderer and there could be a long chase throughout the book. There could've been multiple alternate endings that would've been better than this one. But i'm sure the author did it for a reason...
