I managed to exceed my goal of 75 this year, so I'm setting the same goal for next year tentatively with high hopes I might be able to hit 100. Within that number I go for another few things: - at least 2 rereads of books I read and enjoyed before (only 1 can be YA/genre)
- 10 books published in the calendar year 2016
- 75% books written by female authors (so no more than 18 by men
Kristin,
That is a great idea for 2016! I looked again at what I read, and made 29 and had set my goal for 20. I think I will leave it at 20, but will definitely try to exceed even 29. I like your idea of reading a ya book. I haven't read much in that genre.

Set a goal of 52, which i thought was going to be very unrealistic, since i usually only read like 5 books a year previously, but this was the big year of reading for me, and i have currently finished 55 books, very soon to be 56. Should make it to 57 or 58 before years end.Setting goal of 52 for next year as well, will be writing my thesis next year so probably will not have as much time as i did this year, but we shall see.
Thanks! (sorry for off-topic!) The final assignment-title is not yet carved in stone, but the overall topic is bioinformatics, and it will probably be something along the lines of refining a regression model for predicting and classifying COPD, which i am currently making in a thesis-preparation project, and expand it to other diseases. Will need some not relevant books to distract me from that every now and then for sure :)
I had a goal of 12 and got halfway there. It's hard finding time with a busy job and crazed toddler. :/
Set a goal for 52, read 61 — a personal best!I don't plan on upping my goal next year, though. I still like the idea of reading a book a week, and shooting low gives me the chance to bite off longer books.
Way to go Chris! Congratulations! I am not going to up mine either, like to see that I read more than my goal.
Same as Chris here, goal was 52 and I read 61. I'm leaving my goal for next year at 52, but I want to challenge myself to read some longer books I've been putting off because of the challenge.
I am amazed at the amount of books most of you have been able to get through during the year! Good for you all!
Laura, I too try to balance some longer books with some really short ones. Need to finish the Game of Throne series, and may tackle IQ84 as well.

Reading the beefy "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara, so I imagine I won't register another read until January.

I made a goal of 20 books and have read 26, may make one more but maybe not....just depends on the family thing.
For those that celebrate...have a good holiday!!!
