About the Book (from the Literary Encyclopedia)

Crome Yellow (1921) is Aldous Huxley's first novel. Crome is the name of the country house in which it is set. The title puns on the pigment chrome yellow, and evokes the novel's bright pastoral mood as well as the sun that shines for the duration of the narrative, which unfolds over a period of three weeks from July to August 1921.

Noreen (dog_reader) | 4 comments There is an interesting Huxley interview in Huston Smith's: And Live Rejoicing;Chapters from a Charmed Life:Personal encounters with Spiritual Mavericks, Remarkable Seekers, and the World's Greatest Religious Leaders. Huston Smith interviews Aldous Huxley in his later years, after he changed his "1984" atheistic beliefs.
