I have 2 book stores that I like in the center of my city, one is for books in French and the other ones is for books in foreign language, that's where I go mostly. I go there so often that the people working there know my name!
That is so awesome! I think that's like me with the library, I go there so much that one of the ladies recognises me, however she doesn't know my name I don't think bc I use my mother's library card. What are the shops called?
One's librairie Kléber (library in French actually means book store, so I get kind of confused in English), it's the one with books in French. And the other one is librairie Kléber international. I use my one card, that's why they know me, also as the store has a lot of books in different languages, they sometimes don't have the one I want and I have to order them. And you?
Yeah there are a lot of libraries near me. I usually just go to Windale library now bc it's the closest, but there were two other libraries I used to go to. The main bookstores I go to are Dymock's and QBD. And there was this really beautiful new bookstore that just opened up at one of the other shopping centres that I don't go to as much and it is so amazing!
There's also a bookstore closer to me, but I don't go there because they don't have books in English, there is really just one who has books in English and it's like 20 mn away from me. Usually, in France bookstores are named after the place where there are at, like my bookstore is named like that because it's on Place Kléber.
I go to Books A Million most of the time because it's huge and close, but I sometimes go to Barnes and Noble.
As far as I know, I don't even have a Barnes and Noble around where I am. I'm not even certain if the store is even in Australia...
We only have a small local book shop (my town has about 10.000 people living in the central parts), I do go there as often as I can but since I mostly read English books, and they mostly have the Swedish translations, I can't do all too much shopping there. I wish I could support them more than I do. I order most of my books online.
My favourite book store in general is without a doubt Waterstones in the UK. Whenever I go to London I head there and spend a day roaming the store.
I go to Hodges & Fidges and Eason, sometimes even Dubray books. I don't think we have a Barnes and Noble over here which really sucks.:(
Yeah same Taylor.
I often go to QBD and Dymocks, but the books at book stores can be very expensive so I also borrow from the library a lot. My favourite has to be this store called Harry Hartog's that opened really recently. It's this huge book shop and it looks so vintage and they have SO MUCH stuff. Seriously I could spend an hour in there just looking.

Harry Hartog's sounds about the equivalent of Hodges & Fidges @Lexie :) it has so many books, I am always dumbfounded when I go in. I also love Book Depository. That's where I got The Darkest Minds, because I couldn't find that book anywhere else!
Yeah come to think of it I haven't seen the Darkest Minds in any book store either. I got it from the library. I've heard of he book depository, haven't used it though. The only online source for books that I use is iBooks really.
You can get the kindle app for free on your iPad and buy e-books from Amazon. (If you wanted to)I prefer real books but I end up getting a bunch on my kindle because they way cheaper or I'm inpatient if I'm really into a story and want to keep reading and can't wait for the real book.
I do actually have he kindle app and Amazon. But I don't even use it. I'm fine with just using iBooks, the library or a bookstore of course.
Lately I have been to a great anglophone bookstore in Brussels, it was amazing. They had books from bottom to ceiling. I bought about 80€ worth of books.
I have two great book stores in my city that I love, especially one where they are specialised in books in foreign languages. And when I go somewhere, I must "visit" bookstores.
I also love open-air book markets.

I too look for bookstores when I'm traveling to a new city, I always manage to find great ones and buy at least 50€ worth of books
