Diane (cowgirld) | 3 comments This is a long shot because I don't see this type of activity on this list but I need to talk about the ending of The Distant Hours. I read it before going to bed & could NOT sleep. I was disturbed by (spoiler alert) Thomas's death. I was disturbed that Juniper went mad thinking she killed him, I was disturbed by the father's behavior & the deaths he caused & very disturbed by the ending. That is not to say I did not like the book, I loved it. But it was SO dark & I had NO one to discuss the ending with, lol. It was an amazing story but so dark, sad and well, disturbing, lol. Am I the only one who thought so??

Jodi | 3 comments I'm so sorry. I read this one 2 1/2 years ago and I can't remember anything about it. I just reread my review, but I didn't mention any characters, so that didn't help me. :) Hopefully someone else will respond to you.

Diane (cowgirld) | 3 comments Lol, thank you for responding. I am glad to know someone else was distraught over the ending. I have to say, that may have been intentional. What talent to evoke such emotion with a fictional story. I h ave to agree, its not & won't bemy favorite but she remains one of my new favorite authors.

Karissa | 2 comments I agree, it was a lot darker than some of Kate Morton's other stories. But I did really enjoy it. I was said that Tom and Juniper didn't end up together due to his tragic death and also saddened that Juniper thought she had killed him when really she saved someone's baby!

Question, when Tom was dying he said he saw Juniper... Was that real? Did she really come and find him lying there in the mud? Or was that just imagination?

Diane (cowgirld) | 3 comments I think he was just seeing her face because he loved her?
