Yukiko took a seat outside after grabbing some menus and making sure the weather was decent, 'they pretty much serve anything here,' she smiled.

"so long as its high in calories i don't care!" Adrian said as he took a menu. Shade simply sat in a chair, waiting for them to look over the menus. he was big enough that he could comfortably look over the edge of the table, garnering a few looks from those around them.

'Well there's plenty if that, most stuff is deep fat fried,' she chucked stroking shade again

Shade gave a look that said he was only allowing her to pet him, why was a reason only he knew. Adrian looked through the menu, drooling over the choices, only to get growled at by Shade, who disliked bad manners.

'Sorry Shade I'll stop,' she giggled, 'let me know when your ready to order.'

Adrian grinned, anticipating her reaction when she found out how much he could actually eat. good thing Marcus had given him money earlier or he'd be in trouble. "i think we're ready to order."

'I swear to god if you say one of everything, imma stab you in the eye,' she winked at him glancing briefly at the menu.

when the person came for there order Adrian looked right at them and said, "three of everything please." the person looked to see if he was joking, when they realized he wasn't they got a angry look. "i can pay it i swear." he then reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a stack of hundreds, much to the waiter's surprise.

'You are unbelievable...' she rolled her eyes, 'I'll take the same,' she smirked, 'producing her own money, 'what I save up,' she shrugged.

Adrian shrugged as he ordered for Shade, which was mostly fish but also included some other meat. as the very confused waiter left he looked at her. "so what do you want to talk about while we wait?"

'Hmmm, I dont know i lead a pretty uneventful life these days,' she giggled, 'what about you, do you go on dashing and daring adventures or just wander around a lot?'

"actually i'm co-manager of Party Central. we only just opened recently but we're very popular. its the only place where different fractions can come together in peace. our biggest rule is no fighting, period, you have to take it outside. i work alongside the rest of the fraction in keeping the place clean and running, as do my brothers and Marcus's wife."

'Huh, it's a good idea, can't garuntee how long it'll last but, you have my backing,' she giggled.

"first day we opened a couple of fractions, thinking they could get away with it, tried to kill off a rival fraction that was there. Marcus caught them and nearly beat them to death, would have killed them if his wife hadn't calmed him down. it's because of Marcus that we came here, opened Party Central, and even created the Uniques!"

Yukikio shifted a little in her chair hoping to god those members weren't from Vortex, 'huh sounds fair to me, rules are rules. Party central sounds fun,' she giggled again, 'Im not sure how many fractions will agree with your policies but they have good ideals,' she speculated

"Marcus has made it clear he'll kill any he considers a threat. he'd have killed me ages ago but the effort would drive him insane and danger his beloved wife. he'd do anything for her, good thing she's a sweet woman or we'd be in trouble!"

'Ahahaha she sounds fun, and kind, and Marcus sounds scary, like he'd crush anyone at a moments notice just for looking at him funny,' she shivered a little at the thought.

"he has. not his fault really, since he bears the Curse of Dragos." he looked at her curiously. "want to hear the tale? its a pretty good one actually."

'Sure, i like stories, especially ones with action or mystery. Stories are to me what crack is to a junkie,' she smiled at her analogy.

"well first i'll have to tell you about the origin of us, or at least how our grandfather told us." he cleared his voice then started speaking in a clear, but deeply dramatic, voice.
"long ago, when mankind was still learning its place in the world, there roamed powerful beings known as the Great Ones, lead by the Greatest One. they would often come across man sometimes and offer them help, although they rarely needed help themselves. but one day the Greatest One got lost in some strange forests and couldn't find his way back to his home. some boys from a nearby tribe heard him muttering and stomping in his annoyance and asked him what was wrong. when he said he was lost and couldn't find his home they said they knew the way back and lead him home. in reward he asked what they wanted most.
the eldest said he wanted power over nature itself, the second said he wanted the power over animals, the third asked for the power to know the minds of others, the fourth asked for strange powers that would allow him to go wherever he wanted, the fifth desired power over plants, the sixth over the elements. when the Greatest One asked the seventh what he wanted he said, 'i want the power to protect those i love most.' and, moved by his request, the Greatest removed a bright light from his chest and placed inside the seventh boy and said, 'should you ever have need of my power, in the defense of your loved ones, you may use it however you wish. but know it comes at great cost.'" Adrian stopped and looked at her, "interesting so far?"

Yukiko's gaze was fixed on Adrian and she was completely consumed by his tale, she gave an eager nod and an enthusiastic smile wanting him to continue.

"so the boys went back home and eventually went their separate ways, the oldest Six becoming chiefs of their tribes while the Seventh eventually fell deeply in love and raised a family. generations passed, as the children of the Six gained more powers with each generation, accumulating them as more people with powers were found and brought into the families. eventually one arose who had powers unlike any before. he could change what was around him, make the sick and weak healthy and strong, he could make an animal into a plant and vice versa. but he became corrupt due to the Fallen Ones." Adrian paused dramatically then looked at her. "ah it seems i forgot to tell you something important." although it was obvious this was part of the story.
"you see the Fallen Ones are Great Ones who do not uphold the balance and crave power beyond all else. they were the ones that corrupted humans, as they did with the one called Dagarvain. Dagarvain desired to rule all and created an army of twisted creatures to do his bidding. he had his army attack those who would not bow to him, conquering them one by one. eventually he came to a little peaceful tribe that lived as one with nature in a valley. he demanded that they bow to him and obey him, and he expected them to do so. but he was surprised when they simply laughed at him, for they knew a secret he did not that gave them courage. enraged he grabbed a nearby girl and slit her throat and said, 'that will happen to the rest of your children if you do not obey!" he was met were silence and terrified looks, and believed it was directed at him and, pleased, left to await their tithe.
what he didn't know was that the little girl he killed was the younger sister of Dragos Dormos, descendant of the Seventh, and he cared deeply for his sister. upon seeing her dead body he erupted in rage. he summoned the Greatest One and asked him to change him into a creature that could destroy Dagarvain and his vile army. The Greatest One did and Dragos was transformed into a mighty winged fire-lizard, a creature that all at the time feared and respected. but Dragos's rage warped the transformation, turning what was normally a peaceful, if mighty, creature into a thing of wrath and destruction." he paused when the waiter came with his drink and he took a sip before continuing.
"so Dragos descended upon Dagarvain and his army, who were frozen in fear at the sight of the great beast. Dagarvain tried to command the beast and even tried to change it but he only angered it more. Dragos completely obliterated the army and devoured Dagarvain as he tried to to flee. some of the army managed to survive, fleeing to remote places where they are said to still remain. the tribe believed Dragos would then calm down but it was not to be. he was deaf to their words and blind to their faces, driven to madness by grief and bloodlust. just when all believed he would burn them all in his wrath Dragos heard a lovely voice, singing nearby. he found a young maiden, one of the daughters claimed by Dagarvain as his bride from the Chieftains that had followed him. upon hearing her lovely voice Dragos immediately calmed down and changed back, much to her surprise. he immediately asked her to be his wife and, moved by the emotion in his eyes, accepted. they were happily married and had many children. upon his death bed Dragos, his children, and his grandchildren, were warned by the Greatest One that they were forever cursed by what had happened and that their future children would be just as cursed. but, so long as they protected their loved ones, he would reward them in time. so Dragos's descendants have shared his power, we are able to turn into ferocious monsters in order to protect those we care about but, should we abuse it, will be driven mad. so what did you think?"

'you say we, meaning you can do that too?' She tilted her head to the side whilst sipping her drink, scanning his eyes for anything she could find out from looking.

"yep. although not to the same extend. over the last hundred generations or so things have changed. while originally all got the Curse, now only one gets it each generation. while the rest of us won't be driven insane and threaten to destroy the world we aren't as powerful as the one who bears the Curse. i could transform right now and the only thing that would happen would be that i'd lose my clothes and everyone would probably lose their lunch. speaking of which." he said just as the food started coming.

'Oooh yum,' Yukiko started to eat, i say eat more like inhale the food, it was pretty amazing how much food she could actually eat, 'yeah i dont have any curses or nothin but i have a few years in an asylum on my shoulders if that counts for anything,' she giggled.

"met a guy who people thought was crazy. i never found out if he actually was but he did have the power to drives others insane by whistling." Adrian said as he happily inhaled the food. Shade looked at both with disgusted looks as he daintily at his fish.

'Ahahaha nahh I'm a real mental case,' she giggled through the food in her mouth, she marvelled at shade and blushed a little at his distain for the way she was eating.

Jack walked around, and as he came up to the Diner, he looked at what was around him. Then, pacing up to the closest people who where sitting outside, he began to speak. "Sorry Ma'am, Sir, but do you two know where the Inn is? And if so could you please give me the directions in where is it located?" Jack's green eyes watched them both patiently as he waited in return for an answer.

'Um its not too far from here actually if you head in that direction,' she extended her hand, 'and keep walking you should get there, I would lead you but I'm really hungry,' she giggled a little while her mouth was full of food, she studied the newcomer not knowing anything about him, 'however if you didn't mind waiting, I'll be happy to lead you.' She smiled innocently

Jack kept his disgust to himself when he saw what the woman was eating inside her mouth. He smiled anyway, taking a seat which was not too close to the male or female. "I'll wait, if you both do not mind my company that is?" He asked, again waiting. It was only at this moment he noticed the rather large black cat.

'Fine by me,' Yukiko blushed again at the way she was eating, slowing down a little and trying to act more "ladylike".

Jack nodded. While waiting for the male's answer, he pondered how a cat could have a facial emotion. But in this world, nothing surprised him any more. He sat back on his chair, making himself more comfortable. Jack moved his gray hoddie around to fit it better and after he had done so waited.

Yukiko finished up her food and downed the rest of her drink, 'I have not eaten that much in a while, she sighed contently. 'Come on Adrian hurry up' she teased

Adrian had food in his mouth but was able to speak clearly and didn't sprat his food when he spoke, a talent he had developed when he was younger. "i'm almost done."although he still hadn't finished half his food. then, in a move that was as horrifying as it was shocking, he partially changed his head to that of his monstrous form. the change caused his bones to audibly crack but, unlike his normal full-change, it was very quick. then he opened his jaws extra wide and starting eating so fast that, to most people, it looked as if the mood simply disappeared. in no time at all he was done. he changed back and gave a hearty belch, fortunately he belched upward or he'd have fried someone. Shade sighed as he continued to eat daintily.

Yukiko doubled over and couldn't stop laughing, so much so her stomach hurt from the sudden intakes of breath and tears were evident on her face, 'That was amazing,' she said between laughter trying, but failing miserably, to contain herself and act more mature.

"thanks. although my full-change is far more disturbing. and i only changed my mouth and neck areas. in full form i have horns and spikes to go with the scales."

'Thats cool the best i can do is make my teeth all pointy without actually transformed,' she grinned rubbing the back of her head

"Marcus goes a step further. i still look somewhat humanoid, he completely turns into a beast, and a really big one at that!"

'Damn' she breathed whilst checking for any food she may have missed and trying to get the last drop out of her glass

"Archimedes has even less than i do, although he's probably more dangerous. he doesn't have to be near you in order to kill you. he can have others do it or even build something to do it for him. he's crazy smart."

'That makes me feel unsafe' she pulled her shirt collatr away from her neck a little gazing around uncomfortably, 'I dont like the idea of being watched, I get enough of that from trees...'

"problem is you never know what could be watching. he's good at taking whatever is around him and making something else, often something that explodes violently."

'She smirked at that, I like explosions especially if there's fire,' she mused running her pinkie around the top of her glass

Jack listened intently, but waiting none the less. He was still looking at the large black cat, but managed to tare his eyes away from him. "So, Sir, I'm guessing you come from a powerful family?"

"exceptionally. several of my ancestors were supposedly strong enough to send the world into chaos. but whether that's true or not is unclear. as each one found their soulmate and were kept calm during their lifetime. i myself am strong enough, when i change, that very few people are a threat to me, and even the ones that are would find themselves hard press to beat me. my two brother however are far more powerful and much deadlier than me. my oldest brother could destroy this city if he had half a mind too. but his wife keeps him calm and under control. he's practically wrapped around her finger!" Adrian saw the guy's look and said, "you keep staring at Shade at he might take offense. he's very keen on manners." so saying he gave a loud belch, which caused Shade to make a disgusted face.

"Hm." Jack said, trying to ignore the males belch and carry on talking. "Sorry I have not asked before this, but what are both of your names? If you wouldn't mind telling me, that it."

'Yukiko Mitsu, resident crazy person,' she smiled
