PROOF: Finding Freedom through the Intoxicating Joy of Irresistible Grace by Daniel Montgomery and Timothy Paul Jones is one for me. It's the book that helped me accept the doctrines of grace.

Don't Waste Your Life, John Piper. I was really young in the faith when I read this & I remember being convinced of just how important gospel priorities are for all of life. I finished the book wanting to live a radically sacrificial life for Jesus' sake!
Here are three of my favorites: *In the Name of Jesus: A beautiful, brief book about humility. The book has some weaknesses, but was incredibly formative in a season of my life when I was battling pride.
*The Meaning of Marriage: A foundational book about marriage and relationships as a whole. Does a beautiful job of grounding marriage and singleness in the Bible without veering into extra-Biblical territory.
*Searching for Sunday: I don't agree with Evans on several points. But this book helped me make sense of my evangelical church and youth group experience, and gave me a framework to understand why I view faith the way I do now.
A Loving Life: In a World of Broken Relationships by Paul E. Miller. What love (hesed) is all about, gleaning from the book of Ruth. Wow! Just wow! The most loving thing I can do is tell you to read this book—preferably sharing it out loud with someone you love.
Praying the Bible by Donald S Whitney. It hasn't yet transformed my life (I finished it about 5 minutes ago), but I am positive it will.
In this category I'm reading Chesterton's "Orthodoxy" which Trevin Wax described on Hubworthy as "One of the most life-changing books I've ever read. "
I recently read Trusting God by Jerry Bridges and I would definitely put it on the "Changed My Life" book list. I had bought it a while ago when the kindle version was really cheap on amazon but I had never read it. I had just moved overseas and just on a whim I started reading it. It was the perfect read for a time when my family and I were undergoing significant changes. I would strongly recommended it for anyone.
Some of you mentioned John Piper has been influential, here is a post of what has been influential to him. http://www.desiringgod.org/articles/b...
Holiness by J.C. Ryle - have read it twice over a 10 year span and it is definitely on "I am going to read it again" list. Also, the Growth of a Soul by Hudson Taylor. There are many bios of him but this one is so in-depth and challenges you - a definite must read!

I'm a homeschool mom, and one book that is changing my life, literally, is For the Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay. And I say that only because it's helping me to change the way we do school in practice, not in the big, bombshell, life-changing way. :)
Kim, I'm a homeschooling mom, too. I've been at it for about two decades. My oldest child is 24, and my youngest is 14, so I have only a few years left. My two in high school are doing online classes, so I mostly just pester them about getting their work done on time. :-> I now have a lot more time to read than I used to.
Kim...I am smiling at your post, because "For the Children's Sake" came to mind IMMEDIATELY, when I saw this category. The thing is, I read it in the mid-1980s!!! So glad to know it is still impacting hearts and lives
How You Can Be Sure You Will Spend Eternity with God by Erwin Lutzer,One Minute After You Die by Erwin Lutzer
Putting Amazing Back into Grace by Michael Horton
Chosen by God by R.C. Sproul
I read these four books one summer, and I'm not sure which was the most life-changing, but, combined--wow, what a difference! It was like hearing the gospel for the first time, finally beginning to grasp the amazing-ness of grace and what Christ did for me. Learning about doctrines/concepts like justification and imputation and propitiation and the like...it was WOW.
A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael by Elizabeth Elliot. This book is fantastic!! I've read it at least 4 times...and I'm probably due to read it again.
