Kara I already contact Gretchen. No worries about our message... Enjoy your very well deserved vacations!
Anissa and I will be reading the Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas for January 2016!Happy Holidays and have a nice break!
Kat and I have decided to read Theodore Boone by John Grisham. It's been a long time since I read any John Grisham and I'm looking forward to it.And yes - merry Christmas and happy New Year to all!!
Winter and I are going to be reading Stray by Andrea K. Höst. Really looking forward to it, especially since it seems like something a bit different.
Gretchen and I will read The Handmaid's Tale. I had never read anything of Artwood (I know shame on me) so I am very excited about it!!!
Cassandra wrote: "Jenny and I are reading Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy: Four Women Undercover in the Civil War."Can't wait!
Jamie wrote: "Jess and I will be reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King ."VERY good one of his! I loved it!
lisa and i are definitely going to read a darker shade of magic by v. e. schwab - and maybe more after that one :)
Awesome! I hope you enjoy A Darker Shade of Magic. It wasn't perfect by any means, but the world of the multiple Londons is really cool.
Lulu wrote: "Winter and I are going to be reading Stray by Andrea K. Höst. Really looking forward to it, especially since it seems like something a bit different."Exited for my first tbr twin read! Read a lot of good for this book!
Anita and I have had such a hard time deciding what to read, so we're going to try to read TWO books! We're starting with A Thousand Splendid Suns, and when we finish that, we're going to read The Marauders
Jeana wrote: "Is it too late to participate this month? (I just joined the group yesterday)"I don't mind reading another book this month. The one I'm reading is not too long. Let me know if you'd like to team up and we can compare books.
Jeana, I also wouldn't mind being your twin.I'm jumping in a little late.
That way no one would have to read 2!
I'm willing to team up with whoever wants to. Maybe I could team up with two people? or is that being too ambitious? lol
Sherry and I just finished "The Perfume Collector" by Kathleen Tessaro. To summarize, Grace lives in England and one day gets a letter from a lawyer in Paris stating she has received an inheritance from a woman named Eve D'orsey. However, Grace has no idea who this woman is or why she has chosen her. Grace travels to Paris to solve the mystery. Both of us really enjoyed the book and liked how it was written from different perspectives. Would definitely recommend!
Kat and I initially chose Theodore Boone by John Grisham, which I loved, but Kat couldn't finish! I loved the main character, a 13yr-old boy who was a bit implausibly mature, but he was so nice, I couldn't complain! And I felt the story moved along really well, although was a bit disappointed at the resolution (or lack of) at the end. But I will be reading more Theodore Boone books after this!Because Kat couldn't finish this book, we decided to choose another and went with Confessions of a GP by Benjamin Daniels. Coming from a healthcare background myself, I enjoyed this and was able to compare and contrast things in the British NHS with some of the ways we do things in Australia. I could sympathise with the author in his dealings with bureaucracy and with his patients. Kat is still going with this one.
Both Lulu and I finished Stray! Both liked it! Talking for myself I loved how she has written it not with all the usual YA clishé, and it is very intriguing, I keep wanting to know more about the universe and about the protagonist! We're reading the next book : Lab Rat One in February :-D So that was my first TBR, so fun!
Anita and I have finished A Thousand Splendid Suns, and we both loved it! Hosseini's character development is amazing, and the women in this book are beautifully drawn. Now we're working on our second book, The Marauders.

Glad you both enjoyed A Thousand Splendid Suns, Claire - I really enjoyed it as well when I read it almost a couple of years ago. It's a fascinating although heart-breaking and frustrating glimpse into that culture!
Awesome, Lisa! I think it's cool that you decided to read more than one book. Hopefully you can still discuss Night Film when you're both finished. :)
Gretchen and I finished the book already a couple of weeks ago. Both gave the book 5 stars. I really like it reading with her and enjoy both the book and the interaction. Was our first Margaret Atwood and both love it..Ready to read more from her.
