For me the best SF I read in 2015 would have to be NEMESIS GAMES by James SA Corey.I also really enjoyed THE LAST POLICEMAN TRILOGY by Ben H. Winters and THE BONE CLOCKS by David Mitchell.
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer
The Martian by Andy Weir
The Exile Kiss by George Alec Effinger
Moonfall by Jack McDevitt
The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin
A Fire in the Sun byGeorge Alec Effinger
When Gravity Fails by George Alec Effinger
Read very little this year, so it has to be Proxima by Stephen Baxter.
Looks like my best was my last read so far: Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. Listening to the audiobook version, and despite a few little confusions with the accents and chapter pauses (lack of), it's an excellent book.

After you read the REVELATION SPACE trilogy I strongly encourage you to try the CHASM CITY and THE PREFECT by Reynolds also set in the world of the Glitter Band.
Me too!I have only read the first three expanse novels.
I think new tv version of the expanse is off to a good start. The first four episodes was on Comcast On-Demand.

Hannu Rajaniemi: Collected Fiction
Andreas wrote: "Deathbird Stories."One of my all-time favorites. Treated myself to the signed Easton Press edition some years back--a real treasure.
The Best of Galaxy's Edge 2013-2014 is looking pretty strong after a couple stories by Kary English (Sci fi) and Andrea Stewart (Fantasy)
5 stars and so now two of my favorite books:
Life During Wartime by Lucius Shepard
Night Lamp by Jack Vance
4 stars:
Red Rising (although I suppose more YA than scifi)
Use of Weapons
Bird Box (although I suppose more horror than scifi)
Ready Player One
Station Eleven
Sabella by Tanith Lee (horror/scifi)
Life During Wartime by Lucius Shepard
Night Lamp by Jack Vance

I think YA and sci-fi aren't mutually exclusive.
Seveneves was pretty jaw dropping in its portrayal of survive or perish. Here's an interactive chart that shows best books, genres, avg ratings, etc. http://public.tableau.com/profile/jos...

Of the sci fi books I read and rated in 2015, three got 5* ratings:Stand on Zanzibar by John Brunner;
The Dreaming Jewels by Theodore Sturgeon; and
Pretender by C.J. Cherryh.
Stand on Zanzibar is top of that short 5-star list.
Agree with all of these!! I read 3 Body Problem in 2014 but THE DARK FOREST was great, as was NEMESIS GAMES.Did you read AURORA? I would put that in the short list for best sci-fi of 2015.

i forgot aurora which is ironic because i am reading it right now. 5 hrs to go.
My favorite SF read released in 2015 was definitely The Water Knife, which I highly recommend, if you haven't read it already.I also read Leviathan Wakes and Ancillary Justice, both of which I enjoyed quite a bit (though those weren't 2015 releases).
