First, Happy Whatever-You-Celebrate !
Second, a quick calendar check shows we’re nearly out of 2015, so I need to get with it and establish the 2016 Brain Pain schedule. Personally, I’m a little burned-out on difficult Modern and Post-Modern brain challenges. For next year I’d like to set aside the formal pyrotechnics and instead spend 2016 exploring the theme of female protagonists and how they have been presented in fiction over the ages. I created a list that takes us from the sandal-operas of ancient Greece right on through to 2014. I think the list could and should be added to. Please take a look at the topic here, and weigh-in on what might fit with this project:

Our first book for the year will be by Virginia Woolf – as is our Brain Pain tradition. The discussion for The Voyage Out will begin on Monday, January 4, 2016.
