Daniel enrered the room confidently even though this was one of the very few times he'd breeded ith a girl. He didn't like it and usually avoided it as much as he could.
Catarina sat on the bed. Her legs were pressed up against her chest as the man entered. She was scared. She hated breeding. Her heartbeat quickened as she looked up at his confident face.
((He's around 17 years old. How old is Catarina?)) Daniel walked up to her bed. She seemed nervous so he smiled at her. "I don't like this any more than you do." he said.
((She's 17))Catarina shrugged, and put on a grim smile. She scooted over on the bed to make room for him, and avoided his eyes.
"We don't actually have to do it if you don't want to." he said. "We can just sit here staring at each other till the timer goes off."
She thought about it for a second, she'd never done that before. With another shrug, she asked, "Why are you a breeder if you hate it?" Catarina looked at him expectantly for a reply. ((Okay.))
"I live here." he said as if that explained everything. "And believe me, I don't do this often but I have to once in a while if I live here."
"Oh..." She replied quietly. She looked away from him once again. "So, we're really not going to do anything?" She needed a confirmed answer before she got her hopes up.
"It's your choice." he said. "I'll do wgatever you say." he sat down on the bed, not too close to her, keeping some distance between them.
"I don't want to do anything." Catarina replied honestly. After a minute she said quietly, "Thank you for not being like the others."
She felt a slight blush creep up her cheeks, and turned her face away quickly. Almost anything triggered her blush, and she hated it. "So... Uh, what's your name?" She asked awkwardly.
"I'm Daniel." he said, pretending not to notice her blush. "What's your name?" he smiled and raised his eyebrows.
Daniel crossed one leg over the other and looked at her. "So...how long have you been in here?" he asked.
"What do you think?" Catarina replied harshly. After a moment she realized that what she had said probably sounded mean. "My whole life. I grew up in the Day Care, like everyone else."
((He's a mind-reader))"No. It's okay." he said. "I shouldn't have asked that. Of course." he paused. "I've been living here my whole life too." he said.
"Oh." She said simply. I guess that probably sounded rude... She thought to herself. Catarina looked away from him, and into her lap.
Catarina nodded; she knew how he felt. "I would too." She said. "So... uh, how old are you? I'm seventeen."
She grinned back. "Okay, so, do you like to read?" She didn't really know what to say, so she decided being friendly was the best option.
"Sometimes." he said. "Thogh I usually like to.." he ticked it off on his fingers "Argue, make people mad, tick off the supervisors, eat at the cafe and avoid breeding as much as I can." he looked at her. "You?"
"What I like to do, you mean?" She asked. "Er, well, I like to read, not socialize--this is okay though, it's not that bad--, avoid breeding at all costs, and sleep." Catarina replied, and returned his glance.
"This should actually be your worst event of soializing." Daniel grinned. "I'm a breeder alone in your room and I'm making you talk a lot. Wouldn't you rather socialize with some friends in the facility?"
Catarina almost laughed. Friends? She had none. "I don't have friends." She said. "I don't like anyone here... You're just the exception. Almost. You're actually nice, unlike everyone else."
"I'm honoured." he grinned. "To Be your first friend." his blue eyes sparkled. "Actually, not many people like me." he said. "So for all I know, you might be my first real friend too."
She grinned at him. "On with the questions since we got that settled. What's your favorite color?" She asked.
"I like red." he said, "Dark, dark red." he shrugged "People say that suits me really well. What about you?"
"I like blue." She replied, "But not like a regular one. More of a turquoise blue. I don't really know if that suits me, I'd probably be a really dark grey if I were a color."
"No. Grey wouldn't suit you." he said seriously. "You don't have a grey personality. Blue actually suits you very well though....I would have said a kind of a light hue."
"Yeah." he said, nodding. "I always tell the truth. That's one more thing you should know about me and one of the reasons people hate me."
"You'll soon start seeing why it's so bad." he said. "I always tell the truth, even if it really sucks."
"I've never actually seen one in real life." She replied, "I've heard they're cute though. And fluffy."
"You've never seen a cat?" He asked incredulously. "That should be my first objective then." he jabbed his finger in the air. "Showing you a cat."
"Well, I saw one in a picture once. Does that count?" She said. "And I thought you didn't like cats."
