Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Movie

I really have almost no idea but because of the teaser trailer we can assume the new "quest" will be initiated by Newt's beasts from his suitcase being released. Maybe somebody did it and framed him because you'd think he'd be more careful with it. Also, at some point I heard that there will be muggles trying to expose and destroy the wizard in world so my bet is that the releasing of the beasts and the havoc that occurs will cause a lot of the tension.

Oh, I hadn't heard that, but that sounds good...
As much as I like the idea of fantastic beasts, I thought it could get boring. But if there' s a plot other than just the beasts, I think that's great.
What do you think the American wizarding school will be like?

I agree! Apparently it is something to do with Native American culture, but we'll have to see!
If it's anything like Hogwarts, we're in for a treat!

I know this is kind of late, but Ilvermorny is our American wizarding school, the name was release on Pottermore! We haven't found much out about it yet, but it looks cool...
I hate how vague the teaser trailer is!! We are finally going to see anAmerican wizarding school with Native American culture! There is so much to love about that. First, Native American culture is rich, and has so much depth and beauty, its history so much sorrow and heartache. Maybe in the movie they will show that the American Native suffering was in part because they had magic and cruel muggles wanted to get rid of it.
Second, the school is in America! I'm quitting my school and going to Ilvermorny with or without a letter. Or maybe they don't send letters at that school, maybe I've been invited without realizing it!

Haha, I completely agree! It will be fascinating to learn more about American wizarding culture, basically an in-depth look in just any other countries.
I also loved hearing about the other wizarding schools on Pottermore.
But I agree, I think the teaser was very vague. At this point, I'm still not sure how the plot will shape out...

I know! It'll be so interesting. We only have had seen European Schools of Magic. Being in a different continent would be so interesting! And, Eddie is an excellent actor. So excited!
I'm actually happy that the teaser was vague cause I don't want to know very much going on so its a suprise!!I'm also very excited to see how the muggle man (he's gonna be a main character but I can't remember his name) is going to react to the wizard world cause in the trailer I thought he looked very much in awe and wonder struck but I just want to see how he's going to interact with the Wizards!!

That sounds very interesting! I actually didn't know one of the main characters was going to be a muggle... it would make a lot of sense considering in the American Wizarding History JKR released she made a big deal of how the division between muggles/wizards is very big, so having a muggle as one of the cast would be fascinating.
I agree it'll be nice it's a surprise (I think that sort of goes for Cursed Child too).

First, it'll be a no-maj, not a muggle. Though they are the same things, but expect no-maj only in Fantastic Beasts. Secondly, I read the cursed child plot online. It sucks.
Every country has a different names for non-wizards. In Britain, they are called Muggles, in USA they are no-maj.
No maj is supposed to be shortened for "no magic" cause muggles have no magic. It's funny cause I'm going to understand no-maj but I'm still gonna say muggles out of habit
Yeah, same :P. I did know about 'no-maj' but I'm going to stick with muggle until the movie comes out at least, because... we've had it for ages.
Of course no-maj isn't the only thing that changes in terms of wizard-muggle relations in America compared to Britain. Apparently wizards are a lot more hostile (marriage to muggles (well, no-majs, but I'm saying muggles) is banned) so it's even stranger that this is the first time we get a muggle main character, but also more exciting.

I have completely forgotten about no-majs (is that the plural?...) but I think it will be interesting to see the muggle-i mean no Maj relationship with wizards, how they interact and to see the differences between British and American wizards and their wizarding associations respectively. Plus I love all the different creatures JKR comes up with and cannot wait to see these being brought to life in this movie and how they are integrated into one fluid movie... Like others I believe that the vagueness of the trailer is really good because I don't want it spoiled - I will just await the real thing! :)

I don't know what the plural is! :p I agree, it will be awesome seeing so many creatures. In the book, we saw quite a few, but many of them never made it to the big screen :(
For example, in the recent 'hero' featurette about Newt Scamander, we saw a bowtruckle! I vaguely remember them from the books, so it seems cool. Hopefully there are many more like that? Any particular beasts people want to see?

This just a general update: we have found out a lot more about Ilvermorny, the American wizarding school. JKR has released the story about its origins, and its worth a read!
We've also been told info about the for houses, and you can be sorted on Pottermore.
It's all pretty interesting, learning about the American mythos, but does anyone know how this will tie into the Fantastic Beasts storyline? Any theories? Currently I'm not sure, I hope Newt actually visits Ilvermorny but there's a good chance he will only meet people from there rather than actually going there.

So I went on pottermore and got sorted into my Ilvermony house!!!I was horned serpent. Each of the houses is based on a magical creature, so surely Fantastic Beasts storyline must have something to do with Ilvermony and its houses.
Did anybody else get sorted into their Ilvermony houses?
I got Thunderbird!!!! I agree though there's at least going to be mention of the houses and I bet we will at least visit Ilvermorny for a time cause why else did we get all the information for it :)
I agree with you both, I'm really hoping for a visit to Ilvermorny, but at the same time I'm worried because I think (in the first movie at least) we might only meet people from there.
It does seem kind of silly if it doesn't play a big role though, since we've had so much information released to it in the run up to the Fantastic Beasts release. The fact that the houses are animals, I agree, makes it more likely.
Maybe we'll meet William the pukwudgie.... do you think that would be possible?

Yes, and I loved it so much! It was humorous and dark at the same time (like everything in the Harry Potter franchise). I originally watched it for the dumbledore/grindelwald story, but now I'm obsessed with Newt. Does the next movie come out this year or next year? I think there was a two year wait between movies but I'm mixing these up with the Star Wars releases.
Apparently the next one will be in Paris though. I'm really disappointed, I thought we would see Ilvermorny in the next one. Hopefully we still will. I'm really excited to meet Dumbledore and see his plot though.

And we're going to America in this new movie series.
We already know that there will be a new wizarding school to learn about, and that American muggles are called "No-majs"...
What are our other predictions?
