Winter (winter9) | 5017 comments MARATHON CHALLENGE

Duration: January 1 - January 31, 2016

Let's start the New Year off running! How many of us have a New Year's Resolution to read more books? How many of us set goals higher that we did last year? How many of us want to read that super long Penguin Classic that has been sitting on our book shelf, or spend long winter days on the couch with a pile of graphic novels? Let's start this New Year with a marathon of reading!

With long school breaks and snow days coming, pick a pile of books you feel you could snuggle up with. A nice long over 500 page book, a group of books under 100 pages, that book that has been on your TBR waiting to be read all day, or anything else you choose for yourself.

This is not a sprint, but a way to spend January in the pages! Pick the number of pages or books you would like to read in January and post them below. The goal is to get the New Year started fast! Who would have thought, with the snow coming, that you could do a marathon in January?

Kadijah Michelle is the creator of this challenge, thank you!

Stephanie | 976 comments I have already set a steep goal of 17 books for myself for the month of January, (I know I am crazy), however, I am thinking of aiming for about 5,000 pages (if that's what you were looking for in this?). It is hard to tell. Everyone seems to be setting book goals. If that is the case, then I guess my goal is 17. Yikes. However, given my personal monthly challenges, that seems to be what needs to happen. It will go fast, though...right? :)

1. Faith Bass Darling's Last Garage Sale- 307 pages
2. A Darker Shade of Magic- 398 pages
3. I, Robot- 215 pages
4. Crome Yellow- 174 pages
5. The Nightingale- 440 pages
6. The Lie Tree- 414 pages
7. A World Away- 352 pages
8. Winter- 824 pages
9. Gilead- 247 pages
10. The Martian- 435 pages
11. Omon Ra- 154 pages
12. A Princess of Mars- 186 pages

Total: 4,146/4,000

Faith Bass Darling's Last Garage Sale by Lynda Rutledge A Darker Shade of Magic (A Darker Shade of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab I, Robot (Robot, #0.1) by Isaac Asimov Crome Yellow by Aldous Huxley The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge A World Away by Stewart O'Nan Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer Gilead (Gilead, #1) by Marilynne Robinson The Martian by Andy Weir Omon Ra by Victor Pelevin A Princess of Mars (Barsoom, #1) by Edgar Rice Burroughs
