Here's the link to my 2015 Year in Books: www.goodreads.com/user/year_in_books/... . As is not uncommon with statistics drawn from very small samples, the designation of my "Highest rated on Goodreads" book, my friend Andrew Seddon's Wreaths of Empire, may be somewhat misleading. I feel it deserves every one of its five stars; but it's a new book, and so far I'm the only Goodreader who's rated it. :-)
I started this thread last year, with the title "Your Year in Books --2015;" but I decided to edit out that date and make this a continuing thread that we can use every year. Here's the link to my "Year in Books" for 2016: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . Personally, I think this is a pretty cool feature! If any of the rest of you want to share the link to yours, I'd be interested in seeing it!
Thanks for sharing, Werner; I had been unaware of this new feature.https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i...
Reggia, it's possible you may have forgotten to list some books you read in 2016 here on Goodreads. The program won't add a book to your Year in Books until you assign that book a date read. But once you do note that you read a book in, say, 2016, then the program will add that book to your 2016 Year in Books (even if 2016 has been over for some time). So if you can remember what you read last year, you can update your feature.
Nicole wrote: "I like the way they make a collage of book covers, BTW."Yes, I love those collages. Some Goodreaders actually dislike them, and have complained about them in the Feedback group --I can't imagine why, because I think they're one of the most visually attractive features Goodreads has ever created!
It's pretty cool... do wish they had thought to highlight one's highest-rated book of the year... by the individual reader (not just the Goodreads vote).

Some, but not all, five-star rated book covers are shown larger than the rest. I'm guessing that the reason that they don't highlight the individual's highest-rated book of the year is that, with a five-star rating scale, there are apt to be quite a few books tied at five stars. The rating scale alone won't indicate which one was the person's top favorite. (But we can do that in our review of the year! :-) )
Good points, thank you, Werner! Perhaps they can include a prompt that asks the reader their favorite read of the year just before creating the page...
Here's my Year in Books for 2017: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . (This is another year when the "highest rated on Goodreads" book that I read turns out to be a very recent book for which I'm the first and only reviewer so far. :-) )
My least favorite book read of the year was the most popular. Also, I think I may have missed posting some classics for our challenge. I completed only 10 of 18 books.
My Year in Books
Charly, wow, you've completed a great amount of books this year! For some reason, I can't access Werner's link.
Reggia wrote: "For some reason, I can't access Werner's link."Hmmm! Interestingly, Reggia, when I clicked on my link in message 13 just now, it took me immediately to my Year in Books feature. But when I clicked on your link (in message 15) it also goes to my Year in Books. Not sure what's up with that --I don't try to explain anything that computers do!
Reggia, here's the link to your Year in Books: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . I was able to access it from your profile page.
I didn't state that well... I meant when I clicked yours, I got mine... but I guess I'll have to go to your profile page to access yours.EDIT: Nope, I can't find the link on your page.
Reggia, if you're able to access it there, please go ahead and post the link here. My profile page doesn't give me access to my own Year in Books, and it's not showing up on my home page any more, either. To link it above, I accessed it from the e-mail that Goodreads sent; but now, I'm guessing that that link is a general one that they have set up to direct each member who clicks on it to his/her own feature.
It doesn't let me... if you can re-do, please repost. But I think you're right, it's redirecting each member to their own.
Reggia, try my link again. When you access someone else's Year in Books, the program shows you your own logo at the very top of the page, but then has the other person's information directly below it. A lady in one of my other groups also thought she was getting her own Year when she clicked on another person's, but then discovered, on looking more closely, that she'd just been misled by the logo at the top. That may be what happened when you tried to access mine (though when I double-checked, your original link did actually go to my Year).
I posted my infographic on Facebook a few hours ago, once it became clear that 524 would be the final number. I was hoping to get one more in, but I've been sleepy and am reading some pretty long books right now. I did more fun reading this year than I normally allow myself, so next year, I'm aiming for less books with more of them being non-fiction.
Reggia wrote: "It doesn't let me... if you can re-do, please repost. But I think you're right, it's redirecting each member to their own."Reggia, I've just re-posted that link; it should be correct now. They didn't tell me so explicitly in the Goodreads Feedback group, but the implication I got is that trying to link to this feature with the URL you go to when you click on the link Goodreads e-mailed you last month is what causes the problem. Whoever clicks on it gets taken to their own Year in Books. To share a correct link, you have to bring up your Year in Books directly from your profile, and then copy and paste it. (If you're a Goodreads author, you won't have a link to this feature on your profile; but I also got directions for how to get to it in that case, which I can share if anyone needs them.)
Here's my Year in Books, I think! Hopefully I got it right. https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i...As always I read a lot of picture books and short stories, so this makes me look more industrious than I really am.
I've already checked and liked yours Werner. I'll have to take a look at other folks.
Janelle, I just now went over (and officially liked) yours. I tried to yesterday, but for some reason it was really slow to boot up --I think that was an issue with my computer, caused by the ultra-cold weather here, since it did the same thing on several other pages.
Here's the link to my Year in Books for 2019: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . (One reason we had so much difficulty getting the links straight in the past was that, in the case of Goodreads authors like myself, Goodreads used to have a complicated quirk in how the links were produced and copied, but they've evidently corrected that this year. This link is actually correct, and clickable. :-) )Here's the link for 2018 as well: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . I didn't realize until just now that I'd never posted that one here!
I don't usually link to my Year in Books before the end of the year, in case it might change. :-) At this point, though, that's very unlikely, since I don't expect to finish any more books before Jan. 1, and have no plans to! So here is my Year in Books for 2020: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... .
Here's the link to my Year in Books for 2021: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... . Would anyone else like to share yours?
Mine is an odd assortment of books -- have been working on finishing quite a few that had been abandoned: My Year in Books for 2021
Every book that I read this year has now been recorded, so my Year in Books is complete for this year. Here's the link: https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_i... .
My Year in Books 2022 I managed 21 titles out of my goal of 27. (It says 22 because one of the books was a trilogy, and I also listed those separately in addition to that volume.)
Overall, I'm glad I surpassed 20 although Goodreads told me "better luck next year!" LOL, uh, thanks, GR! ;-) :-D

Reggia, for some reason, your link isn't working for me.
If you'd like to read mine, click on my picture to get to my profile page, and scroll down the right hand side until you get to "BIONIC JEAN’S YEAR IN BOOKS". That works for all of us who have a public profile, (but for those with an author profile, it's on the left hand side instead.)Mine says I have read 122 books, but some of these are children's books, short stories or essays! I do know I wrote 106 reviews in 2022, as I kept a separate record of those.
