I plan to read "Blackbird" by Anna Carey.

Other titles I considered: "Beyond Suspicion" by Catherine Winn, "Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty, and "Birthmarked" by Caragh O'Brien

Past titles I have liked: "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver, "Burn for Burn" by Jenny Han, "Beloved" by Toni Morrison,

Kay | 31 comments No better B book than The Book Thief! Have already read it twice. Does that count??

message 4: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 3 comments I'd recommend "The Beekeeper's Daughter " by Santa Montefiore . The characters stuck with me for so long after I finished reading it...

"Birthmarked" is really good too!

Yes, read it again if you love it :) they don't have to be books you haven't read. You can do whatever you like :) and we aren't counting articles, so it counts as a B book!

Sherry Lister | 45 comments I read "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia for my "B" book. I enjoyed this book very much. I've since found out it was made into a movie so it will be next on my "to rent" list!

Isn't that a series, Sherry? Would you keep going?

message 9: by Rokkan (new)

Rokkan (rokk) | 8 comments I plan on reading Beauty Queens for this one.

We don't have to read them in alphabetical order do we? If so I'll just have to find another K, I guess...

Sherry Lister | 45 comments Yes, it is a series Kassi!

message 11: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Lister | 45 comments As previously commented, I read "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia for my "B" book, but I have several more I intend to read THIS YEAR! They are: "Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty, "Bang" by Lisa McMann, and "Blur" by Steven James.

Holly, I don't think it really matters. I am trying to do them mostly in order depending on availability of the books. I just think it will be easier for me to keep track of. I will work on getting bookshelves and discussions for each letter. You guys are welcome to start them as well if you are ready for a different letter.

Good idea!!!!

Sherry Lister | 45 comments HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Blur" by Steven James. I just finished it and LOVED it!!! Thought I would share.

Kevin Koppelmann | 76 comments My B book is Bare Bones (Temperance Brennan #6) by Kathy Reichs. It's a series book but was fine as a stand alone book to read. It has encouraged me to read more of her series. I probably would not have read her series without this challenge, as I'm not a huge "Bones" fan that the TV series is based on. I would suggest this book as a good read if you are still looking for a B.

I was not a fan of Blackbird. Intriguing idea but the resolution to the mystery ended up being the plot line from a famous short story in many high school literature text books. I won't say which as not to ruin it for anyone who might want to read it still, but I found it unoriginal and disappointing once I discovered that's where the plot was going.

message 18: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 2 comments I just finished The Beekeepers Daughter. What a wonderful story with great character development and beautiful description.

message 19: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 10 comments I'm reading Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist. I read her book Cold Tangerines last year and it surprised me with how much I loved it. So I'm hoping this one will be just as good. However this list makes me want to read about eight other b books...lol
