I finished this book for a challenge in another group yesterday. I'm glad I finally read it. It was hard to put down and didn't even take 5 hours to finish. The movie was cute but the book was much better.
I read this back when the movie first came out and I loved it. The movie didn't do it justice at all. It was heavier and darker but that's what made it so good.

That's really great to hear. I saw the movie when it released and have not read the book yet. The silliness of the movie bugged me a little.
I enjoyed both but I agree they were very different. The movie was way more humorous. I found the book very dark and disturbing.

Never realised this book was a series. It's an interesting book, I tried hard not to compare it with the movie coz i saw the movie first. It's an interesting concept and a different perspective of zombies. Which was quite fun, not sure if I want to read the next book. Anyone here read the second book? it is worth it? Let me know.

R is a young man with an existential crisis--he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse. Just dreams.
After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and strangely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a burst of vibrant color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that R lives in. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world...
Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead and the blurry line in between.
