Read this book in a single day after pre-ordering & downloading it. Great conclusion to the series, very excited for the novella book "Stars Above" later this year.
I thought Winter was a fantastic ending to the Lunar Chronicles! It was very satisfying and entertaining. I thought it was well written with a realistic revolution and developed characters. I am really excited to read Marissa Meyer's other upcoming works!@Astoria Winter reminded me of Luna Lovegood a little too!
At first I read Cinder and thought, that was pretty good. Next with Scarlett, my interest was really captured. To have two leading ladies that were so strong and different.. pretty cool. Cress blew me away now having 3 leading ladies that were strong and different from each other. .. Plus the plot was developing very nicely. Finally, the epic conclusion, Winter was FANTASTIC! Seriously, she has grown as a writer so much.. it certainly has made this series into something epic. As you can tell, I really enjoyed this series. I think she did a great job developing all of the characters as well as the universe this takes place in...I look forward to the upcoming novella.
Spent hours at the coffee shop just so that I can read the book in peace. But yes, the ending was great. so it's worth it. but a little part of me wished that cinder was 'stronger' with her powers.
Wow just wow! I've read all the rave reviews for this book before I actually read it and am very grateful that this book held up to all it's hype. I loved everything about this book, all of the action, suspense, and comedy was really good. I was literally laughing out loud in the funny moments and had my jaw wide open in the shocking suspenseful moments. I couldn't wait to finish this book because of how good it was, but I didn't want it to end either. I loved that there were no love triangles in this series. Everyone had their own love interest. Cinder and Kai, Scarlet and Wolf, Cress and Thorne, and Winter and Jacin. I loved all the characters in this book.
Cinder was strong and brave but pretty scared the whole time too. I feel like she didn't really know what to do most of the time and really relied on friends for much of the plan. It was pretty much make it up as you go along because plans never really work out.
Kai for me seemed to be more involved in this book than all the rest. He wasn't just an Earthen emperor sitting back waiting for someone to doing something, (although in the beginning of this book he was). He did what he could when he could and I liked that.
Scarlet was in my opinion the bravest of all these characters. She was held prisoner in the beginning of the book, but for the rest of book she really held it together. I especially liked the friendship she somewhat developed with Winter.
Wolf for me was kind of a let down. He was supposed to be the solider who couldn't be beat. Who was relied on the whole time. Given what happened in the book though (without giving anything away) I can see why he was the way he was in this book I'm pretty sure not everyone would be able to find their way back the way he did. I love the relationship he and Scarlet have.
Cress...I feel like I would be like Cress in this whole situation. Scared out of my mind, wanting to help, trying to be brave, getting trapped all the time, and in the end actually succeeding in being heroic as Thorne said. I think she was the weakest of the group. Not that being able to hack into a computer in less than a minute is weak, in fact it's really cool. It's just given the fact that she didn't know anything about living in the outside world or doing anything other hacking computers made her weak for me. Which is sad to say because I relate to her a lot...
Throne as usual cracked me up. I don't really know what to say about Thorne he acted like I thought he would through out the book. I think the fact that he can't flirt with Cress is cute. Their whole relationship to me is cute. I have to give him credit though he was pretty smart in someone of the situations they found themselves in throughout this book.
Winter... I felt sorry for Winter, being as she said it, afraid of her own mind. She couldn't really do anything without having some hallucination. I liked that she was always kind to everyone though. She was never actually mad at anyone or anything. The only thing I didn't like was that everyone pretty much liked her only because she was beautiful. They were surprised when she was kind and that she had Lunar sickness. Though I do wish to know if she ever got cured.
Jacin...I never really warmed up to him. I don't know if it's because of what he did in the last book or what but I just didn't really like him. Don't get me wrong I loved that he would anything to protect Winter and that he didn't care if she was crazy or not. I just felt like he babied her too much, and only did what he did with Cinder and the team if it was to save or protect Winter. Though I'm glad the others consider him a friend.
Iko was again as funny as ever. I seriously need an Iko in my life. I'm glad she was crucial in this book too. She wasn't just a background character who'd come out once in a while for comic relief. I love the friendship she and Cinder have.
Levana and Amiery creeped me out. I didn't think Levana could get any more evil but I was wrong and Amiery just gave me chills down my spine every time I pictured him with that smile of his. They were great villains.
All in all I loved this book. I loved that this wasn't just a straight win for the good guys. It was a messy up and down journey for them.
Awesome summary, Nora, and I agree with everything you said :) I think we all need an Iko in our lives LOL!
I just finished this book, and I loved the ending, I thought it was perfect. Cinder's decision was awesome!
I'm at page 200 of this book and so far, I love it!! I can't wait for the resolution!!
Essa pequena vitória ajudou-me a recuperar foco e continuar a lutar pelas minhas metas.

Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend—the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?
