I'll review yours if you will friend me (and I you) and you review The Toki-Girl and the Sparrow-boy when it is closer to publication. Same deal: .mobi copy for honest review.I don't know how to use Goodreads very well yet, but I'd like to learn, and for that I need friends. Or whatever they're called in this in-line universe.
Thanks!
Have you ever heard of a website called Wattpad.com? I published some of my work on there and found it to be a great way to access beta readers. I'm not here to push the website, but it may be something you'd be interested in taking a look at. I mean you're talking about exchanging ePub or mobi files. You could just publish on Wattpad and instantly gain access to millions of beta readers. Just saying.

And I didn't think beta readers posted reviews, though. Do they?

I only hesitate because I recently agreed to a review swap and was put in a difficult position. I'm sorry, but I don't think I will be agreeing to review swaps for some time, if ever. I hope you are able to find the reviews you are looking for! Have you tried joining the book pages on Facebook?
I do know what you mean! I have done swaps or freebie for review and it would be tough if I did not like the book! I hope I would at best be tactful and kind, because not every book is for every reader, and books I really do not care for myself do have natural audiences that will love them -- I am just not part of them. I thought you were seeking swaps, but never mind.
Lea, Wattpad readers do make comments in your work... What they like vs what they didn't like etc. I'm vacationing in FL right now and working on the final draft of my book. I'll be taking into account some of those comments,I found it to be a helpful, encouraging experience. I see Goodreads as a place to promote books that are already published and those that are nearing release. Wattpad I saw as a way to tell if the book had what it takes to make a connection with my audience.

Troubled Skies is part of a series (Silver Sagas) but I've tried to write it as a stand-alone book. If you like light fantasy (no vampires, werewolves, or zombies) and would be willing to read an ebook in advance of its release (I will make free mobi ecopies available in exchange for honest reviews), please let me know. I'm looking for up to ten reviewers who are willing to post their reviews on Amazon.com the day Troubled Skies comes out on Kindle (5/30/2014).
More information about the book/series can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/leasboo...
