Welcome to You'll Love This One (YLTO). Tell us a bit about yourself so that we can get to know you.

Rusalka wrote: "Welcome Marie. Lovely to have you here with us, and Happy New Year :)"Thank you, Rusalka (what a lovely name -my favourite opera by the way:)
I still need to check out the opera actually. Been meaning to for years. Thanks for the reminder! And cheers, not my real name, but I do like it as a pseudonym - and much more interesting than the real one ;)
Thank you for the warm Welcome! (Just want to apologize in advance that I might make grammar and spelling mistakes - I have been learning English for many years but oh well....:) I love to read books in English but writing and expressing myself is still a challenge .
We have heaps of people who speak other languages besides English, Marie, so just go for it and don't worry about it. I'm a native English speaker with very little other languages, and you will notice I frequently have spelling and grammar challenges with no excuses! So judgement free zone here, we only speak up if we have trouble understanding as we want to know people's thoughts :D

...(thank God for Google translator!)
Mariab wrote: "And then... there is Travis... ;-)"LMAO. I was thinking it, but I'm so glad it's you who said it :P
Hi there, I'm Pdy from the land down under. I haven't had a chance to read for so long and have noticed its absents... To encourage myself to make time I've joined my first online book club.
Pdy, welcome! Glad you chose us lot as your first online group. What an honour! Where abouts in Aus are you from?Let us know if you have any questions about anything, and jump into all the discussion and activities!
Hi Pdy! You'll find a lot of book recommendations here - it's impossible to not find something that sounds good.

Thanks Rusalka, I'm from Canberra.
This looks like a great book club, I've spent the last hour and a half wandering through... And wow! I've been living under a 'book' rock, there is so much to catch up on and the options... again wow. Thank you to all those who make this all possible, your amazing.
*cough* *composes oneself*
I do get excited when I meet another Canberran on the internet. I know there are 350 000 of us, and no doubt our mother's brother's friend's best goat went to school together. But I kinda get excited when we stumble upon each other, obviously.
Mariab wrote: "And then... there is Travis... ;-)...(thank God for Google translator!) "
Oh my God, that was so funny! I'm still tearing. But how we like to have Travis here!
Marie, don't worry about your English (mine is painful), we are kind of re-writing it here...
Sandra wrote: "Welcome, Pdy! Rusalka has been teaching us Aussie to us blokes here."LOL!!!! You're not a bloke, Sandra... unless I am VERY wrong
Rusalka wrote: "Goats do it to everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWXZy..."Hilarious and I forgot, welcome Pdy and Marie!
I am beyond hysterics with you all! All our newcomers have found one of my favourite places on the internet, with no end of frivolity. I'm headed to bed... jeez... I'm going to be laughing for a while!

*Chuckling*
It would be my hubby's bestfriend's goat... as I'm not a native. Lol. ;-) it's great to meet another Canberran! It is a small world after all.

You see? I'm terrible at languages...
Sandra wrote: "You see? I'm terrible at languages... "There are languages, and then their is slang within languages within each place. Hat off Sandra, I can hardly speak one language, let alone deal with us crazies on the other side of the world!

Most probably then. Either way, welcome, and doubly welcome for the small geographic proximity ;) Give us a yell if you have any questions.
Still crashing, still giggling. Love you all.

ROFL! I'm with Rusalka on this. :)
Welcome Pdy and to another Canberrian. Will YLTO survive two of you? I'm snorting with laughter over the goat.
Welcome to Marie and Pdy : )You picked a great first group, Pdy!
Marie, my husband and I are opera fans. Rusalka is a wonderful one.
Hi. I'm Shannon, and I'm from Mobile, AL. I am looking to get out of a book rut this year, and I am hoping the challenges and recommendations here will help me with that. I'm also looking to connect with other readers, and I look forward to discussions and getting to know you all better.
Hi Shannon! Welcome to our group. I hope you enjoy the various activities we have and that they'll help pull you out of your reading rut.
Hi Shannon, we've all been there now and again. This group always serves as further inspiration for more reading I find. Welcome!
Oh my! I am laughing so hard right now. Travis. Goats. Blokes. This is hilarious.Welcome to Pdy and Shannon. You'll find heaps going on in this group. Plenty of chat. Book related and non book related. And plenty of madness.
