Hi, so I was gonna read Soundless by Richelle Mead today but I just remembered that Chinese New Year is in February so I wanted to save the book to read then. But I do want to read more Chinese related books whether they are Chinese folklore, myths, legends, or whatever. A Chinese main character is also fine. So do you guys have any recs?

Just a heads up Ratana, I've moved this thread into the folder called "Book Resources & Recommendations". Just in case you have trouble finding it later. We try not to have orphan threads.I'm heading to my shelves to see if I have any recs for you.
Here's a couple of recs for you:Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
Peony in Love (based on the legend of the Peony Pavilion)
anything by Amy Tan
If your interesed in historical fiction, you might try the Ibis trilogy by Amitav GhoshFor children's folklore Where the Mountain Meets the Moon
Everything I Never Told You is about a Chinese American family. Has some interesting info on immigration of the Chinese to the US. A Lady Cyclist's Guide to Kashgar is largely set in China and gives a good idea of the vastness of the country. It would seem that I haven't read many Chinese related books either. I have chosen China as one of my sites to visit in the geocache challenge. I'll be reading Janice's suggestion of Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.
These are considered to be the four great, classical Chinese works:1. Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Vol. 1 by Luo Guanzhong
2. Water Margin, Volume 1 by Shi Nai'an
3. The Journey to the West, Volume 1 by Wu Cheng'en
4. The Dream of the Red Chamber by Cao Xueqin
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
One author is Xinran. The Good Women Of China: Hidden Voices
China Witness: Voices from a Silent GenerationMessage from an Unknown Chinese Mother: Stories of Loss and Love
Miss Chopsticks
Another author is Gail Tsukiyama
A Hundred Flowers: A Novel
Women of the Silk
Some others:
Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China
The Last Chinese Chef
The Flowers of War
Omg The Journey To The West! I had no idea it was made into an English book. It is definitely a must read. If you have never read the book or seen the movie, you have to. It's one of the best things ever
