Yes! And the synopsis says this one takes place in Ireland as well. I only hope this series doesn't go the way of the Lady Julia mysteries and (view spoiler).

message 11: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 697 comments Oh, I hope not too. I haven't read the Lady Julia series yet but I have the first book at home. I already knew about that spoiler though so maybe knowing to expect it will blunt the edges for me. Maybe.

Miss M | 13 comments I was interested to see Rory Clements is starting a new series--looking forward to it. 2 June

Corpus
From amazon: A brand-new historical spy thriller series set in 1930s London, Cambridge and Berlin, with all the trademark suspense and authenticity of Clements's award-winning and acclaimed JOHN SHAKESPEARE series.

1936 and Europe is on the brink of a cataclysm it cannot foresee. In Berlin, a young woman risks her life to rescue a Jewish dissident. In a London club, two men exchange a vital message. In a country house near Cambridge, an elderly couple are discovered, horribly murdered. It will take Cambridge professor and maverick Thomas Wilde, expert in the Elizabethan spy networks, to put the pieces of a conspiracy that reaches the very highest levels of government. But can he decipher its true meaning before it's too late?

Also, The Ashes of London by Andrew Taylor is out April 7.

Melanie Fraser (melaniefraservoiceuk) The audio version of Winter's Pearl: Prologue to the Guy Winter Mysteries Series (the first audiobook in this series) written by: James Philip has recently been released.

Winter's Pearl is set in London in the first months of the Second World War during the period of the so-called 'Phoney War'. It draws us into the complex world of Scotland Yard's most famous detective Guy Winter; the Mystery Man. So named because no other living detective has ever solved as many mysteries as Winter of the Yard. However, the great detective's fame and triumphs have come at a high cost. Who needs enemies when your friends are on somebody else's side?
