Hi Kristen, I believe this one is more Fantasy than Science Fiction. I added a bit of clarification of the two in the challenge description. If you want to use this book, maybe move it to YA?

Got it, thanks! I was just going by what it was tagged as on GR.
Oooh--I have one! A bit of classic YA SF:Between Planets
I think this dates from 1951. Heinlein gave me a good laugh in the early pages, where the character has a cell phone--but is carefully packing his slide rule for his journey!
Would the Never Never trilogy count as scifi? It doesn't seem like fantasy to me but I'm not sure how to classify it lol

If that's the one, then I'd say, no. That is more medical thriller and romance than sc-fi.
That's the one. Sorry I wasn't more clear, lol. I wanted to clarify just because the definition you gave about sci-fi kind of fit in my mind but I figured I'd double check and I'm glad I did :)
Rhonda wrote: "1. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (2/18/2016) - so much fun!"One of my favorites from the past few years - this challenge from a few years ago got me interested in reading it. Cline's latest, "Armada" is also pretty good.

Armada is on my TBR. The plot reminds me of The Last Starfighter.

I guess technically this is a kids' book, but since it's almost 200 pages long, I'm hoping I can count it here - The Runaway Robot.

I really enjoyed this series."
It's been on my "to-read" list for a looooong time, I'm glad I finally got to it!
Melki wrote: "And, another robot book - The Wild Robot."Lol, all of your Sci-Fi reads have been about robots!

I've been somewhat obsessed ever since I read Sad Robot Stories two years ago. Now I need to find one more . . .

Read up to 5 Science Fiction books.
They must be science fiction not Fantasy, which is a separate genre:
"To put it in more clear terms: science fiction deals with, well, science. It may be "future science" - that is, based on principles we are not yet aware of. It may be (as is sometimes the case in the BBC series Doctor Who) science so far advanced that it appears to be magic- but it's still science.
Fantasy, on the other hand, deals in magic. This may mean wizards and spells, or it may mean That Which Man Cannot Know Without Going Bibbley (a particular branch of Fantasy - Horror - deals with this type most often). It may mean faeries, schools of witchcraft and wizardry, and ogres, or it may mean a hollow Earth where dinosaurs still live deep below the planet's surface.
