Oh man, I am so disappointed about the White House Chef series ending! Although after reading her blog post about it, I understand why. But still... bummed.
I found it here, Ruth --> Julie Hyzy blogspotI'm sad to see the series end too, it's been one of my favorites.
I read her blog and definitely understand why. I never can read mysteries set in the White House or by Margaret Truman. I have thought about why and don't really know why.
Got 9 of these on order and I didn't know about the White House Chef series either! One of my favorite cozy series! :-(
I don't think the White House Chef series is ending. According to Julie's blog, her contract to write it is ending, but it may continue with another author. I'm not sure how that will work out.
To be honest, I'm not sure I'd read the series if continued by another author, especially after reading her blog post about the way she's been treated :(
I'm not really as sorry as I thought I would be to hear the White House Chef series is ending. I think it's time. The last few books have been disappointing to me. I really didn't like the direction the stories were taking. I may give them a try if there is a new author, but I'm not really all that upset it's ending.
I've finished reading Foreign Éclairs... it was good. It ended in a rather interesting place actually. It could be picked up again by another author, but frankly, I wouldn't touch it; I'm happy with where it stands now and I'd be ripped if someone came in and messed with the characters.A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder was a tiny bit of a bummer though. Also the last in the series and it wrapped everything up nicely, but the plot wasn't as good and spooky as previous books.
Well, nice to read about Victoria Laurie's book. I think that the wrapping forces a bit less of plot (although I'll tell you after reading it).
