Anyone want to try a reading challenge again this year? The last one we did was in 2012. I'm kind of still smarting from that one, but am willing to do it again if anyone else is.

Linda | 190 comments I've done it every year and met my challenge every time (but I decided after the first time to keep the number reasonable and reduce the stress). The average pledge is 52 books a year, so that's my number this year. I read 85 books last year. Since Russ retired my numbers are down - so much travel research cuts into my other reading.

Wow Linda! I usually read about 65 books a year. Last year because of Marc's death and Lauren's wedding, etc., etc., I only read about 47. I am in awe of you reading 85 books last year and considering that less than your usual because of travel.

I was thinking more in terms of a list of book titles, rather than a number. Any interest in that?

Linda | 190 comments Did you read your Goodreads 2015 Summary that they recently sent? That's how I knew how many I read - they told me - so cool! They also showed the book covers, which was rather thrilling. It didn't include a few I read that I couldn't even find on Goodreads, but it included some I didn't finish, so probably a wash.

Explain what you mean about a list of book titles. Are you saying submit what you plan to read? That doesn't work as well for me. I don't think a day passes that I don't hear about a book that I add to my already unobtainable To Read List. I prioritize the list constantly.

Yes, I mean a list of titles that you intend to read in 2016. Yes, what you plan to read. Something maybe you've been intending to read forever and decide this is the year. I would put some titles on mine that have been on the list the longest, and I think it's just time to take them off. I'm thinking of just putting 10 - 20 on that list, just to make sure I get them read sometime this year. I think that's how we did it in 2012. We exchanged lists, remember?

And yes, I loved seeing my 2015 summary from Goodreads! A great service. I also keep my own list though.

Linda | 190 comments OK, we can exchange a list but I'll need to keep it short - can we do ten? We shouldn't include books we have to read for Literazzi, should we? I'm like you and keep my own list of all I read and another of all I want to read. I have sooo many books I own that are growing old and gray waiting for me to pick them up and read them. Poor things!

Ten sounds great to me. Like you, I have way too many books that are getting dusty waiting for me to read them. If I read them, I might be able to get rid of them, and get my library back to a manageable size! No, I wouldn't include anything we're reading for Literazzi. I'll start on my list tomorrow!

Linda | 190 comments Sounds good. A manageable size library - wow, is that even possible? Let's try!

I'm over half way through my challenge, I'm happy to say. Working on #6 at the moment.

Linda | 190 comments Good for you! I had four books come this week that I requested. I don't know why they always seem to show up at once!
