Hi BrendaI'm just over halfway through this book and loving it so far. really interested in seeing how Captain Thalric and Achaeos characters develop
Going to be starting it next week.
Something that really struck me as kind of hard to imagine was a man / insect hybrid that all of the races of this book present.Since this is the spoiler thread, I guess I'll start with the topics:

My thoughts to be added later once I have time to process everything.
Finished. Started slow for me, but then I just got into the story and couldn't put it down. This book was not even on my radar -- thanks to this group that I read it.
Slogging through this one. The Collegium scenes near the beginning almost killed my interest, but now I'm breathlessly enjoying the action and multiple POVs about 35% in.Really enjoying the unusual insect-based culture and strong characterizations.
Okay, finished the main story! But now instead of hopping straight into book 2, I'm picking through the short stories at the end of book 1!!!! There are even roach kinden... They keep throwing new insect people at me and it amazes me every time
