About a Boy discussion

I think marcus is a very mature boy for his age because he has been through really rough patches. Marcus deals with bullying at school but not only that he also deals with his mothers depression if anything marcus is the man here. i feel like he had to grow up quick in order to deal with things. marcus had to deal with the thought that his mother may have tried to commit suicide if i were to be in his position i would have crumbled. i also dont blame marcus for seeking attention or trying to find a man for his mother, as he sees this as the only way to solve everything that is wrong. marcus dealt with a lot in the book and not just a lot but all at the same time which has a bigger impact, if only i would be as strong as him. one question i have is if you were to be in marcus position what would you have done ? would you have crumbled as i would have ? do you think he deserves this ?
