Book Before Movie?

I had read the 5th wave and say you that's an awesome book. Better if you read it first before the movie cause as you now books are always better thant movies. Also in the movie can skip important details. Reed the book ma friend ;)
When I started the book I didn't know it was a young adult book, but when I found out I wasn't put off. I really enjoyed it, although there was some soppy teen dialogue in there, but it didn't put me off. I enjoyed it that much, I'm going to read the next book. Having watched the clips from the film, the film seems to detract from the book. Some of the dialogue has swapped characters, some scenes see to be added etc. So, I would read the book first and treat the film as a "based on" book and not a "from book to screen" adaptation.

But if I read the book first, I'm afraid the movie will have some changes that will disappoint me in the end and will give a bad impression on the whole "The 5th Wave". Does that make any sense?

My brother pretty much told me h..."Yes read before the movie. Reading the book always helps fill in the blanks that movies that tend to have. Movies leave out many parts or characters that make the book awesome. Plus I love the book. Plus reading a book is cheaper so if you end up not liking it at least you saved money on paying for the movie ticket. They are pricey at times and take up two hours.

Having read the book, the film did disappoint me, but, despite the book being a little on the long side, I still think it's worth the read.
I imagine if you don't read the book you may enjoy the film, but the book is more worth it than the film.
The book goes back and forth between present and flashbacks in the front (I haven't gotten very far). I'm sort of reading the book imagining how it would play out in the movie which I don't usually do and I imagine it could be confusing on screen, especially as there's a lot of inner thoughts going on from the main character. I am also a book before movie person. If you only watch the movie, you don't get the real idea of the book. I am really liking it so far and think the first few chapters are worth trying .
I just read the first book and I really wanna watch the movie, should read the other 2 books as well before watching the movie so I won’t get anything spoiled?

no, that movie was awful, then again I thought the book was okay but very entertaining. and had nice characters.
I'd definitely read the book first. Although the movie had portrayed some of the scenes in the novel, and the overall plot, I'd consider these two completely different stories. The characters had been lost in translation in the movie. For example, I 100% believe they dumbed down the main character into a damsel in distress. Also, it's not as thrilling as the novel, I had watched this with my brothers, who had not read the book, and they said the movie was very predictable and they weren't really surprised with it. They had taken out big scenes and the visuals didn't do the novel justice. I'd 100% recommend reading the book before the movie. But, I'm gonna be honest, the book wasn't the best thing to read.

Is there anyone out there who wants to persuade me to read it before? Is it worth reading before? Opinions? :)
