How many books can you read in this genre? Any genre will do.

Choose your level:

Bronze: 3
Silver: 6
Gold: 9
Platinum: 12+

Of course you can log your progress and the books you plan to read here. But here is the widget where you can also track your progress. Just remember to name your "shelf" and put your books under the shelf as you read them so that it will count towards your goal.

Okay so dystopia is a society where everything is bad. Example The Hunger Games, Fahrenheit 451, Divergent, 1984, The Giver, Anthem...... Here's a listopia for Dystopia

Utopia is quite the opposite where everything is perfect. Example: Anthem and The Giver can double as utopia because for the people in charge it was considered a perfect world.

A lot of dystopia/utopia books also fall under apocalyptic which is destruction of the world. Does that all make sense? Thanks for bringing that up because I meant to mention that here. I was so worried about those dang widgets lol

Anastasia Kinderman | 942 comments Ooooooh I love Dystopian. I could reread the Hunger Games or Divergent for this one. I'll go for Bronze.

I just finished reading The Giver which I consider a utopia turned dystopia lol. Has anyone read it? It's a really good one to add to your list if you're struggling with this challenge.

I've read it. The ending really threw me for a loop. Definitely a good book.

Londa (londalocs) | 1526 comments The Giver was a great book. I just checked and I have only read on dystopian book this year. Lord of the Flies

I will probably read a couple more by the end of the year.

I read Lord of the Flies when in school and I guess I need to read it again. I was never a really big fan of most dystopia. I haven't read the Giver yet.

message 18: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (caseykerry) into the forest by jean heglund is pretty amazing. dystopian in a very real sence. it could likely happen in our life time (it begins with the power across the country ending). film adaptation also good.
i need to read the giver asap. i hear great things. i picked up acopy of cormack mccarthys the road..not started it yet. this genre is new to me.
