Shirley | 69 comments I really want to recommend priest but that's set in the Wild West :(
I was just trying to see if a manga I read years ago would jump out at me but can't remember the title at all. About a girl who's a shaman and had Korean spirits in it but can't for the life of me remember what it's called and fix t finish it. Not sure if it would count but saw demon diary is by a Korean author. That one is just so much fun! Set in a fantasy world and tarot cafe aswel. Once again font think it specifies if set in Asia so I'm not being all at helpful but I only want to recommend stuff I've either read myself or heard is really good.

Sonia I think an easy answer to this would be Gene Luen Yang's Boxer and Saint.

There are 2 other comics I'm interested in but haven't read yet that should work for this task.

Priya's Shakti: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Drawing the Line: Indian Women Fight Back! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Both have had some buzz on the Internet earlier and both happen to be about the life of women in India. I think you can read Priya's Shakti for free. And Drawing the Line is backed by a kickstarter campaign. Here's the link to the publisher of Drawing the Line - adastracomix.com

I have a copy of Drawing the Line since I supported their kickstarter campaign. Should be reading that soon.

Bea Does anyone else have any recommends for this task? The two Sonia mentioned sounded good but my local library does not have them.

message 6: by Bea (new)

Bea I read A Bride's Story, Vol. 1 by Kaoru Mori for slice-of-life. However, I think I will slot it in for this task instead. The author is Japanese, and the story is set in Central Turkey. I think that would qualify it for this task.

quietprofanity | 72 comments This part of the community is dead, I know. But I read a bunch of Sailor Moon manga for this part of the task. (And I reviewed it here.)
