2016 Alphabet Challenge discussion

I am interested to see what you guys are reading for E. I don't have many ideas on this one. I am looking at An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir or Every Fifteen Minutes by Lisa Scottoline. I would recommend Etched in Sand by Regina Calcaterra. If you like contemporary YA romance, I recommend Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell and Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. I wouldn't recommend them to everyone as I don't think they are particularly great books, but I am not really into that genre. Both have a little something different to set them apart from the hoards of books in that category.

There's also Edward Adrift, which is the sequel to 600 Hours of Edward, both by Craig Lancaster (and both on my TBR), The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J. Walker and Equal Rites by the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett, which I heartily recommend.

I am currently reading "Eve" by Anna Carey for my "E" book. I'm having difficulty with the alphabet order due to the library loan schedule. I also plan on possibly reading "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell and "Everything, Everything" by Nicola Yoon. Those are not high on my priority list though.

I very much enjoyed "Eve". It was a quick audiobook. She spoke pretty fast. It was only a little over 6 hours long.

I've got Eventide by Kent Haruf. Anybody know if I need to read Plainsong first as this is a sequel??

Oh, and if you haven't read it, The End of Your Life Book Club was good. Okay story but great for creating a list of books you'll want to read before the end of your life!

If you're looking for a good E book, I'd recommend Embrace Me by Lisa Samson. She is by far one of my favorite authors. She delves into faith a bit yet the characters she paints are so vivid and her stories full of impossible turns. I'm partial to this book because she opens an eye to what was once common place and is no longer in our society - a circus of freaks and sideshows and the humanity buried in these people amazes me in this modern day world.

Just finished Einstein: His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson. I'm sure most of you would not enjoy this book but it was interesting to look into the life of one of the most revered scientist of all time. I would suggest The Enemy (Jack Reacher #8) or Echo Burning (Jack Reacher #5) by Lee Child. All of his books can be stand alone reads but when I read 1 I wanted to read them all.

A lot of great sounding things that I wasn't familiar with. Lots to look at! One reason I love these threads and this group. :)

I read another E book, Eleven by Patricia Reilly Giff. Would probably make a great book to read to elementary students to stress the importance of reading.

I'm reading Exit, Pursued by a Bear and really enjoying it. It goes into a lot of touchy subjects that you don't see a lot in teen books. Mostly focusing around a teen who was roofied and raped and with the current media story about the Ivy League swimmer, it's timely and I'm seeing some of the same reactions and it's interesting.
