I haven't read any others either, but did notice that people refer to her a Chick Lit writer. I never would have guessed from what I've read so far. CL seems an almost derogatory term, so am glad I began this as the first and had no preconceived notions.
I noticed that she has A LOT of other books. It seems like most of the authors I have chosen only have one or two books.

So when I realized she was the same author for this story I was kind of surprised. It seemed like such a departure from her other books.
I wonder about Kristin Hannah's other works now. I don't care if they are Chick Lit. If they are done with the skill of The Nightingale, I'll read them all.
I actually did read one of her other books, Fly Away, but didn't realize it until after I finished Nightingale. I just looked back and apparently only rated it 2 stars... I got it at the airport when I was in a bind and looking for something new. It was definitely what I would consider "Chick Lit" which is why I didn't rate it higher. It was okay, but not fantastic or the type of novel I would like to read often. I feel like the writing style was reflective of that in Nightingale, but the content was centred on best friends, marriages, drinking, parties, relationships, etc.

Katelyn wrote: "Read some of her other stuff after the nightingale... Didn't love it"Yeah I have to say Nightingale was totally different from her other books (although I'm not really an authority since I've only read one, lol!). But after reading this one I'd really like her to continue writing like this.
