Magical force is composed of two halves which constantly work against one another and also work together. One half, innately recognized and sensed by the Light Arts, is a calm, gentle force. It is expressed in the elements of Water and Earth, to which those of the Light Magic have an affinity. The other half is its opposite, violent and demanding and must be controlled and dominated. It aligns to the elements of Air and Fire, and is much more easily manipulated by the Dark Arts. Earth and Fire represent the element Nether, the force of death and darkness. Air and Water represent Aether, the force of life and light.

Spirit exists on its own, and can be either forceful or gentle, brutal or weak depending on where and how the power is tapped into. Spirit is the opposing force of Blood and touches upon the elements Water and Earth; the nurturing forces that keep life going. Spirit is also the primal force of magic, the closest modern element to 'Source' - from which all magic originated.

Blood is a darkly wicked aspect of magic. No one knows how the primordial forces of the world came to be tainted by Blood. Blood is a powerful element; it is also dark and dangerous. It separates itself from spirit and tends to run through and touch upon the Fire and Air elements. Over time, this has made those who connect more easily to Fire and Air, specifically warlocks, more attuned to this force and the ability to wield it.

There are two Paths of Magic: Mysticism, Theurgy, White or Light Magic, The Right Handed Path; and Maleficium, Diablerie, Black or Dark Magic, The Left Handed Path. Those that practice the darker half are often outcasts and are not part of the Ministry.

Majix, or Magic, is an ancient power that runs through the universe, keeping the beat and rhythm of the Song, keeping all thing progressing forward. It is the invisible force behind existence - before there were even gods, majix flowed through the emptiness in bright ribbons of colour. This created balance, light against the darkness...then creation happened when the first gods were born from the mixture of light and dark.

Majix manifests as it did in the Time Before Time - as bright ribbons of light. These ribbons only appear when magic is invoked, yet not used. When used, it takes different forms depending on the exact type of magic. Magic is neither good nor bad, it simply is; magic is made up of different 'parts' and these can be attributed to lawful an chaotic depending on the viewer's morals. Magic is known to manipulate the eyes of the wielder depending on the various types of magic - this is commonly seen in ancient, powerful, and forbidden magics.

Magic ALWAYS comes with a cost!
Can not revive the dead.
Can not change the past nor travel through time.
Can not make someone love you or manipulate love.
Can not kill someone directly.
Can not change fate nor destiny.
Can not be used to spite the gods.

All of these 'limitations' are more like rules set down by the first magi and became to be believed as the limitations of magic. Any magic that goes against these things are deemed dark magic.
