The Autobigraphy of Malcolm X was so revealing in the social dynamics of the time and in the way happenings in the activist's life and how those effected his philosophies and beliefs as he progressed. It also allowed me as a student to reevaluate Malcolm X as a American lcon differing from what I had previously known him as. You see the evolution of the historical figure and his scar upon the tendons of American society.

While the Autobiography of Malcom X is a riveting book I also recommend Malcom X: A life of reinvention. As I read the latter, it puts his life in the spectrum of all that was occuring during the civil rights movement. It also brings to light many things that Malcom X didn't want to be known. Its definately worth a read.
Malcolm's book is evidence of his eminence as not only a Black man, but as an American Icon, I would recommend anybody to add his book to their library, to read it to it's entirety and to add it to the school system.
Today is Feb. 21, 2018...let's all remember a fiery man who had the hunger for erudition and who strove for dignity and human rights. Malcolm X was a man who proved that with a little bit of effort you can be and do anything. He is a true definition of the American Dream one who came from nothing to an icon.
