Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands I'm reading this right now. The way it is written makes it not so easy to read but her life is so interesting! She was born in Jamaica, lived in Panama and was a nurse during the Crimea war. Het autobiography is also one of the first autobiographies by mixed raced women (or so wiki tells me).I don't know if it counts as a classic since I don't think the book is well known ( I never heard of her before watching an ExtraCredit episode on her life on youtube) but it was published in 1857 and I think it should be a classic.
