Hello everyone,
I'm new here and have is a story to tell. It may seem strange to you, and I've never told it publicly. When my husband, Trevor Meldal-Johnsen, suddenly died of a heart attack, I was devastated. He was my soul mate and best friend, we adored each other. But strange things started happening after he died. I could hear him talking to me. I dismissed it as wishful thinking. I told myself that grief and shock drove me a bit crazy, that I was "hearing voices." But he got upset and I felt he was protesting. He said, "Don't you know me? Haven't we often known what the other was thinking without needing to talk? Do you need proof it's me and not your imagination?" Shaken, I answered, "Yes I do." And proof he did give me--for months, until he decided it was time for him to go and I lost him a second time. Coincidences were just too many to ignore. As time went by I could "hear" him more and more clearly. Every day, he gave me signs, some poetic and beautiful, some funny. He helped me with mundane but important things that only he could know. For example, he helped me find documents and papers by telling me exactly where they were, he told me about whom I should contact for various affairs, that they would be expecting a phone call from me, and they were! About who owed him money and how much and how to get it back. One thing I knew, I hadn't been deluding myself. I could write a book about it, but a lot of it is too personal. What I will say is, if you lose a loved one and you feel they're trying to communicate with you, don't ignore it. I know people will call me weird for saying this, but quite frankly, I don't care. I shouldn't have been surprised though: Years before, he had written a wonderful story about a love that doesn't die, about the fact that we don't die. That's what he believed. The novel was called "Always," and sold a million copies at the time. He received hundreds of letters from readers. I still get comments about it. So I decided to republish it as an e-book and paperback and added an extended bio and a foreword to it. I hope you enjoy it. He would be happy about that.
