Valerie | 280 comments The Elite is the second in the YA Dystopian trilogy of a society that chooses its next queen in the fashion of The Bachelor.

I used the first in this series, The Selection for the dystopian entry, and will be doing The Queen for the PopSugar entry of book and its Prequel.

I also went ahead and finished off the series of The One for a Wild Card.

As you can see, it is a quick read. The story is simplistic, and has some shades of The Hunger Games, but does not have the same violence level. Not that it does not have some. The book is more romance/romance triangle than anything else...and, does give some insight as to what it might be like to be the women on The Bachelor.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) This is a light, quick and entertaining read! I've been in love with the series since I decided to buy the first book, The Selection, because I loved the cover (THEY ARE GORGEOUS, AND THOSE DRESSES!). The plot is not too complicated and woven, the romance is cute and America is smart, feisty and funny, I love her. Have yet to read The Queen and The Favorite and I can't wait for The Crown, the last in the series.
